Stay Optimistic and Be Positive

IT IS SAID THERE IS NOTHING CERTAIN IN THIS WORLD BUT DEATH AND TAXES.
We are often faced with uncertainty. With all those uncertainties, it is difficult to remain positive. Sometimes negative thoughts and worries fill our mind. With these thoughts, we sometimes feel alone and desperate. We feel that nothing seems and would ever be right.
We knew we should not worry… Worrying would not solve any of our problems. Often, it makes the situation worse. When we worry, small problems tend to get bigger and the solution seems to become more difficult. While we can stop for a while, analyze and try to find a way to solve an issue, we knew that precious time should not be wasted worrying. Yet sometimes not to worry is difficult to do.
However, since worrying does not solve anything. Why not just stay optimistic and think positive? Instead of filling your mind with all the negative thoughts, why not try to condition your mind to be optimistic. Cultivate positive healthy thoughts in your mind and heart. Always try to get rid of thoughts and ideas that bring you down.
Being optimistic doesn’t mean totally ignoring the bad side of life. It doesn’t mean sweeping the problem under the rag. Being an optimist means trying to focus on the good side, exerting effort to be distracted from anything negative and holding on to hope no matter what.
But how do we focus on the positive and remain optimistic? There are thousand of self-help books that teach us how to be optimistic and remain that way. A great number of them offer a spiritual way of leading us to the path of optimism and hope. And I agree. With God beside us nothing can destroy us. No negative thought can lead us to despair. Absolutely nothing can put us down if He is with us!
With that in mind alone, we do not have any reason not to stay positive and hopeful…
Sometimes when we think that our life is on a downhill and nothing seems to work right, we forget to be grateful for all those usual, common and ordinary things that we should be thankful for. We forget to be grateful for having eyes that can see, for having the legs to run or for just being able to breath.
When we wake up, be thankful for being able to rise and see a new day. Come to think of it, just seeing the sun rise and set in a day is one big miracle we should all be grateful for. Sometimes, when things happen everyday we somehow forget the importance of those simple, ordinary and usual events. Live the moment and be grateful for the time. By just simply being grateful for the little blessings we get each day, we can be optimistic and remain positive.
