The World of Measurement

The 'Universe of Possibilities' is a place where you can dwell where new inventions are plentiful and confidence abounds. This place extends beyond the borders that confine you to everyday reality. The world that confines you is known as the 'World of Measurement' - a place filled with assessments, scales, grades, standards and comparisons.

All of us our on the same journey - the journey to success - we just each walk our own paths. Along the way we each encounter obstacles, including time, money, power, lover, resources and inner strength.

All the measurements that exist in our current reality - the winning, the losing, the gaining of acceptance and the threatened rejection, the raised hopes and dash into despair - all of these are based on the single assumption that life is about staying alive and surviving. Even when life is at its best, when we are in the world of measurements, we are confined by our own limitations.

We are confined by our own mind.

A Universe of Possibilities

We all grow up in a world of measurement, where we get to know things by comparison and contrast. Our mind is programmed to stay in a state of measurement, but that is not the only state of mind available. When we leave the world of measurement, we enter a universe of possibilities.

Unimpeded on a daily basis by the concern for survival, free from generalized assumptions of scarcity, a person stands in the great space of possibility and potential. The imagination becomes uninhibited - able to go anywhere.

In the realm of possibility, invention and innovation fuel our knowledge. Life appears as variety, pattern, and shimmering moments, inviting us to live in the moment and reach new heights.

In a universe of possibilities new life is produced, ideas are created, context becomes powerful and more meaningful. Emotions are abundant here, such as joy, grace, awe, wholeness, passion and compassion.

People learn to access the universe of possibility through a variety of ways: religious experiences, meditation, listening to music, etc. These are moments when we forget about ourselves and seem to become one with the universe.

Keeping Your Feet on the Ground While Reaching for the Stars

You don't have to choose between success and happiness - you can have them both at once - it all depends on your attitude. You have a higher potential of being successful if you participate joyfully with projects and goals, rather than thinking your life depends on achieving the mark. When you live in joy and not in a world of expectations, you can appreciate all that is around you.

Resources will come to you in greater abundance when you are generous to others rather than selfish, when you care less about being in control and more about being in the moment. In the measurement world, you set a goal and strive for it. In the universe of possibilities, you set the context and let life unfold around you.

Seek and Ye Shall Find One's Own Potential

About Potential - a Poem by Emily Dickenson

I dwell in Possibility

A fairer House than Prose

More numerous of Windows

Superior - for Doors

Of Chambers as the Cedars

Impregnable of Eye

And for an Everlasting Roof

The Gambrels of the Sky

Of Visitors - the fairest

For Occupation - This

The spreading wide my narrow Hands

To gather Paradise

-Emily Dickenson

The Difference Between Surviving and Survival-Thinking

Many peoples' lives are in jeopardy on a daily basis. Their focus is on staying alive at all times. They live in a state of fight or flight. This is surviving, not survival-thinking. Survival-thinking is undiscriminating, survival mode is not.

Adopting an attitude of survival thinking frees us from the limitations of the world of measurement. Survival mode prompts us to seek to acquire more for ourselves no matter how much we have, and to treat others as enemies regardless of how little they have.

If you live in survival mode, you are placing unnecessary limitations on yourself. When you learn to adopt an attitude of survival-thinking, you remove those limitations.

Unlocking a Universe of Possibilities

So how can you practice unlocking this universe of possibilities that awaits you? By realizing that you are living in the world of measurement to begin with.

Once you realize that there are limitations confining you, you will be able to access the realm of possibility beyond it. When you notice yourself thinking within the world of measurements, and you are aware of the universe of possibilities, your opportunities are endless. Many of the circumstances that block you in your daily life only do so because of a framework of assumptions that you, yourself, created.

Find the right framework and extraordinary accomplishments become everyday experiences.
