Tackling Bad Eating Habits Day 1
The first step to getting bad eating habits under control and overcoming the problem is to first admit that you have the problem. My weight loss story is no different than most people. I developed bad eating habits when I began eating out of my negative emotions. Once I admitted why I gained weight, I was able to put a weight loss plan into action and I lost 52lbs within a year. I know that may seem slow to most, but it's the only way I was able to keep it off for over 5 years.
Recently I some new stress came into my life and I gained a few of those points back so I now have a more weight to lose. I believe that realizing what type of eater I am and coming up with a new plan of action will get me to my goal weight.
The textbook definition of an emotional eater is one who consumes large quantities of food, usually junk food or comfort food, in response to feelings instead of hunger. This is usually done when a person is experiencing a negative emotion that they don’t know how to deal with in any other way. Experts estimate that 75% of overeating is because of negative emotions.
