The 101 Kettlebell Workouts Experiment Begins

Let me begin with, I love Kettlebells. From the moment I wrapped my hands around one, there was a certain electricity that overtook me and I knew I had found what I had been looking for. However, once you get one, the question now becomes what to do with it. Fortunately for me, mine came with a book. Enter The Kettlebell by Pavel Tsatsouline. I read it, I studied it, followed it and I changed. I got stronger, leaner, and healthier. Not to mention, I gained inner strength as well.
My first Kettlebell was 16 kg, about 35 pounds. Eventually, I bought more Kettlebells and heavier one's at that. I set some goals for myself and even went out and got myself Certified as an RKC Instructor. RKC stands for Russian Kettlebell Challenge. It was Pavel's first book on the subject and it started quite a following. One of those earlier followers was a guy named David Whitley. Dave's a guy I've been following for a while now. He's got a website, http://www.irontamer.com/ that I've been keeping an eye on. You see I'm a fan of the old school style of lifts and lifting. I like exercises like the Windmill, the Side Press, and the Bent Press. Dave does a mean bent press...
Anyway, on Dave's website, he's got a newsletter and when you subscribe to said newsletter, you get an Ebook he compiled called "101 Kettlebell Workouts." So i got it. Printed it out and flipped through it. It looked good. Real good.
In my world I was recovering from a work related neck and shoulder injury so I've been on a very basic Kettlebell diet of Turkish Get Ups and Swings. Now that I've recovered, I'm ready to get back into the swing of things (pun intended) and branch back out.
Kettlebells... now what?
So here I am, I'm in my 4th year of the great Kettlebell experiment. I've gone through a lot of training and practicing and I still feel like I've only scratched the surface of what can be accomplished with this amazing tool.
Recently, I heard an Interview with David Whitley and one of the key points I took away from the Interview and a driving principle from the RKC is consistency, commitment, and follow through. To see real change in your strength, your size, or your composition you need consistency in your efforts. You need to commit to yourself and follow through with whatever program or routine you select. Come hell or high water and as Larry the Cable Guy puts it, "getterdone!" That's right! And one of the fringe benefits of training for strength is you also strengthen your core. By core, I'm not only referring to your midsection but to your fabric of being. With hard training you will develop inner strength to go with your outer strength.
And so came a challenge. I was looking for a blog topic. My father challanged himself to do 30 of these Hub Pages. I'd like to do 30 of these, I thought. Hmm... well we'll see what comes up. In addition I've been looking for a new Kettlebell Routine. Something to strengthen my foundation as well as push me to a new level.
Well as with most men, inspiration comes in the bathroom. While sitting there the other morning I thought, what if I did everyone of those 101 Kettlebell Workouts and blogged on each one? Yes folks, sometimes it really is that simple.
So here we go, 101 Kettlebell Blogs to go with my 101 Kettlebell Workouts. You will be welcome to join me on my journey as I try every one. I'll take some photos and maybe even a little video along the way.
My main goal in this will be to show you how versatile Kettlebells are and how much you can grow from training with them yourself. It's work for the body and the soul.
