The 11 Forgotten Laws of Attraction

Updated on November 8, 2015

The Power of Positive Thinking

They use to call it the power of positive thinking.

In the Good Book it says something like: As a man thinketh, so he is.

You are what you think you are--to some degree. There is no evidence that thinking alone can affect physical reality to a catastrophic degree. If it could, the Himalayas and the Appalachians would change places once per hour.

No one can cause mountains to move just by thinking about it. But there's the rub for most human beings. All of us can move mountains. We know that it generally takes money, machines, men, and a plan. And that it actually begins with a plan. And generally, a little luck. It always helps to be in the right place at the right time.

Wishful Thinking

In my view, the Laws of Attraction are not about staying in a dark closet at the bottom of a well and wishing something good would happen to you.

Rather, as a great scientist once said: Chance favors the prepared observer. In order to know that you have found something wonderful, first you must be prepared to see, and notice and recognize the value of what you have found. The ignorant may stumble upon treasures unaware every day. How do you think valuable old manuscripts or paintings get found in somebody's attic?

Vision

It has been said that without vision, the people perish.

It is not enough to work hard. Most people need something to believe in to keep themselves in the game when times get tough.

It is easy to tell people that life is about getting up when you fall, but most people still need a reason to get up.

The 11 Lost Laws of Attraction remind us that we actually can attract into our lives what we want, wish for and hope for. Not merely by wishing, but by stepping out in faith and taking action. It has also been said that fortune favors the bold. Sometimes we have to act as though we believe. We have to keep peddling that bike the first time the adult hand is removed even if there is a little voice of fear somewhere.

The Law of Supply.

Some call this the law of supply and demand. Most things in life are best in equilibrium and harmony. It is naturally to want more of things we like and even useful things but it is possible to eat yourself to death or drink yourself to death and think about that woman who went to jail because as she said: Only the little people pay taxes.

Everyone pays for what they want sooner or later in one for or the other. Supply and demand and equilibrium are all natural forces in our lives.

There is nothing wrong in wanting more. It is natural and normal to do so. But you must use your reason to channel you desires into healthy non-addictive outlets.

Sex is good but if you let your sex addiction destroy your livelihood through inappropriate behavior at work you have abused a good thing and it is the abuse that is bad. Not the thing that was abused.

There is as the good book says a proper place and time for everything.

Law of Attraction

We all want success, wealth and health to dog our footsteps for all the days of our lives.

No one wants to live under a bad luck ran cloud.

The question people ask is: What can I do to change my luck? Can I get lucky through act of will or virtue?

The Law of Attraction is similar to the power of positive thinking. There is an old story about a boy digging through a pile of horse manure. When asked why the boy replied: There's got to be a pony under there somewhere!

Some of us are better at making lemonade out of lemons than others but we can all practice a few behaviors that will bring good fortune into our lives.

Hang around lucky people. When choosing friends and with whom to be friendly, choose happy and upbeat people.

Find your passions and the things you are good at then hang out with the people who are adept what you want and learn from them to be good at it.

See the end. Envision your goal and work toward it.

Divide and conquer.

Divide the path to the goal into reasonable steps and accomplish them one step at a time. Rome wasn't built in a day.

One of the real secrets to the Secret is that thinking alone will not get you where you want to go. It is what you do that gets you where you want to go.

You must spend more time reading for instance than watching TV. You don't have to give up TV but you do have to decide how badly you want to win and how much you are willing to give up to get it.

Positive thinking is a good way to deal with the day to day struggles and sacrifices. It's all worthwhile because the end is good and desirable and achievable.

Law of Receiving

"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."

Let serendipity happen. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

If you are trying to get rich, but you stumble into happiness, for the love of God, be Happy!

Don't say to your self: I can't be happy yet because I am not rich yet. If you do, don't be surprise if you die unhappy and not rich either.

Just because a gift is unexpected, do not make it also unwanted.

Expect the unexpected because if you are truly working in the Law of Attraction, it will happen.

Happiness or other good things will happen as you seek your ultimate goal. It is not for you to decide the direction of the universe. If the universe wants you to be happy with something other than what you thought was your ultimate goal, you might want to go ahead and be happy.

Here is where some discernment and active listening come in. Should you stop now and be happy or keep on striving? Should you do both?

If you realize that you ultimate goal was to be happy, the answer is easy.

So would you rather be rich or happy?

Law Of Increase

The Attitude of Gratitude

Count your blessings and be grateful for each and everyone. It is not enough to be grateful to the divine for your life. For this Law to work you must be personally grateful to the people in your life who make your life better. Begin close in with the people you see every day and branch out to strangers like at barista who gives you extra cinnamon.

You Have to Give to Get.

You have to spend money to make money. You have to give time to get time. You have to expend effort and resources to see those things come back your way. They Lord helps those who help themselves and who help others. You are going to have to put your time in if you want to reap the rewards.

To Get a Blessing You have to Be A Blessing.

Now might be time for random acts of kindness and paying it forward.

Law of Compensation

"Pay back is a bitch!"

What goes around, comes around.

Karma.

Everything has it price. Are you willing to pay it? Some pursue money all their lives and get the money but never achieve happiness.

Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.

Law of Non-Resistance

Give in.

Give up.

Drop out.

What?

After all that hard work I did on all the other Laws, now you tell me to contemplate my navel?

Not exactly.

Anyone who has studied Eastern thought and especially meditation knows that if you want to stop thinking about a pink elephant, one of the best ways is to stop trying so hard.

Certain types of meditation require that you cease to resist the world. Stop trying to solve your problems. Stop trying to please everyone. Let it all go.

One of the practical uses for the Law of Non-Resistance is that you will stop giving so many excuses and stop being so defensive. You actually rob yourself of spiritual energy and peace when you get angry and defensive.

You must still do the best you can with the task at hand. The Law comes in when someone criticizes you anyway. Listen politely. Abstract from what is said any improvements you can make, and let the personal stuff go in one ear an out the other. Do a better job next time not because you felt bad but because you want to and you know that it is right.

Sometimes we are meant to be the conduit for power. If you look at some of histories greatest failures and monsters you will note that they tried to become the pitcher, the vessel, the reservoir of power.

Certain fresh water lakes in Florida harbor amoeba that eat the brains of hapless teenagers every summer. A limited reservoir pollutes itself over time.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

You are a limited human with a very, very, very short life span. You make a poor reservoir. You cannot hold much.

But as a conduit, you can touch limitless power without getting burned because it all flows throw you.

Law of Forgiveness

It has been said that you should never let the sun set on hatred and unforgiveness.

Some couples have rule to never go to bed angry.

Let anger and resentment fester in your heart are like taking poisons into yourself.

Learn to forgive yourself and to forgive others.

Law of Sacrifice

You have to give to get.

In order to get the things you want you may be required to give all that you have.

It takes time and energy to get good at some skill. You must give up your freedom to do what you like and eat what you want in order to train or practice a skill.

You have to give to get.

Figure out how to be charitable since you are going to have to give up something anyway, there are times when you can choose what you will lose.

Law of Obedience

Obey the Laws of Attraction or suffer the consequences.

Law of Success

You were born to win.

You were born to succeed.

Adhere to the Laws of Attraction and success will be yours.

Law Of Thinking

You are what you think. Or as the Good Book says: As a man thinketh...

There is something called "self talk" that we all indulge in. As we go about our daily lives there are tasks to be done and there are resources allotted to do them.

Do not pollute your mental stream with negative thinking. Don't spend your time thinking about how much you hate or fear something. Do not spend your time thinking about how you will fail and everyone will know.

Most tasks require that you break them down into steps or phases and that you gather the people and resources required to complete individual phases. We almost never have to do everything here and now whether we understand it our not.

Find the gurus and ask them how it's done. Do some research when you get home. Join a club or an organization that specializes in ways to solve your problem.

You may find that you rarely have time to do everything from scratch anyway so borrow the best working design that you can and work from that.

Make your self talk positive. It's going well and it's going to get better. I feel good and I will feel even better tomorrow.

What we seek is not a perfect life. That would leave us open to endless disappointment. What we seek is a better life. A better life is almost always obtainable. Sometimes it is as easy as being happy with what you have. Some times it is as easy as listening to people who are not trying to find fault or criticize but who are actually trying to help you to succeed. They want you to succeed as well.
