The Advanced Pulse Technique and The Quick Pulse©: The Foundation of Jo Dunning’s Quantum Energetic Disciplines™ (QED)
QED Practitioner, Debra Cummings, demonstrates The Advanced Pulse Technique.
The Advanced Pulse Technique
The Advanced Pulse Technique, originally called Pattern Shifts© and subsequently referred to as The Pulse Technique©, is considered one of the advanced energy healing processes of Quantum Energetic Disciplines™ (QED), founded by Jo Dunning. Practitioners of this process describe it as a way “to change things you would like to have different in your life.”
During one of her 2004 workshops, Jo Dunning described how she began working with this technique back in 1993 or 1994. While leading a “personal intensive” with a client, a clairvoyant Ms. Dunning noticed that as her client spoke, she saw geometric patterns over her client’s body. Different shapes would light up as the woman described different events that had happened in her life. Ms. Dunning came to realize that when we have a thought, it is directly connected to a place in our energy field where it is being stored. As Ms. Dunning worked with those shapes in her client’s energy field, the client noticed a change in her feelings, as though the negative impact of the experiences held in those particular shapes had released from her life.
After years of working with, researching, testing and practicing her discovery, Jo Dunning offered her first Pulse training to students in 1999. Over the years, Ms. Dunning offered apprenticeships (also known as practicums) as part of The Pulse Technique© training. These practicums became required for anyone wanting to offer the work professionally. Ms. Dunning offered separate training and practicums for remote work and group work, as well as training for practitioners wanting to do the work on themselves.
Participants from the first Quick Pulse© training in 2010 share their experiences of this technique.
The Quick Pulse©
In May of 2010, Jo Dunning offered the first training for The Quick Pulse Technique©, a streamlined version of The Advanced Pulse Technique. Like The Advanced Pulse Technique, The Quick Pulse Technique© is designed to change things that we would like to have different in our lives. In contrast to The Advanced Pulse Technique training, The Quick Pulse Technique© training requires no practicum and practitioners learn to do the work on themselves, on others and over the phone over the course of a weekend. This updated version of “The Pulse” is now the introductory technique to the QED training program.
What Happens in a Session?
While the Advanced Pulse Technique and The Quick Pulse Technique© are two separate techniques, they are both clearing techniques that work very similarly. They are designed to clear what clients focus on, making room for more of what they would like to experience in their lives. For this reason, whether the session is in person or remote, with individuals or with groups, clients are asked to bring with them a list of five or six items that they would like to have different in their lives. Just for the few minutes of the process, the role of the clients is to silently bring to mind one of the items on their lists and to think of all of the ways that they do not like it, all of the ways it gets in their way, and all of the ways it is uncomfortable for them. During this time, the practitioner starts the energy work to begin clearing the items the clients have brought to mind. When the practitioner notices the energy stop, clients are instructed to bring their attention back.
Practitioners certified in The Advanced Pulse Technique have been trained to direct the session in a way that allows the deepest work to be done on the issues that arise, so if the session is one-on-one, the practitioner and client will briefly discuss what came up for the client during the process, and the practitioner will gently guide the client in choosing the next item to address. With in-person group sessions, there may be some conversation between processes, but clients choose which items to address, generally by referring to their lists that they have brought with them. With group telephone sessions, participant lines are often muted as the practitioner leads the entire call, pausing in between processes, allowing callers to bring their attention back and select the next item to address. A single process usually takes about three to five minutes. Some practitioners (author included) offer ongoing teleconferences for clients who wish to experience this advanced QED technique from wherever they are in the world.
A practitioner certified in The Quick Pulse Technique© leads a process, pauses in between and allows the client to choose the next item to address before beginning the next process. While there is a brief description about what the client may have noticed during the process, there is no discussion or exploration about what came up for the client during the process. Each Quick Pulse© usually takes only about two to three minutes.
Testimonials from clients of this work have included reports of physical and emotional healings, improvements in finances, career, relationships and an overall sense of enhanced well-being. Practitioners are quick to note, however, that this work is complementary and not a substitute for any medical or psychological care that their clients are receiving.
How Can I Experience These Techniques?
Currently, the office of Jo Dunning offers monthly group teleconferences introducing callers to The Quick Pulse© and providing information about training. Anyone can sign up to receive notification about these calls and other Jo Dunning events on Jo Dunning's website.
In addition, several other practitioners have their own practices and offer this work by telephone and/or in person. Many of these practitioners also offer group teleconferences, sending out call announcements, including date, time and pricing to their mailing lists. Their websites can be found via a simple Google search.
