Why do diet experts fear this diet. Diet experts like to tell you what foods to eat. Maybe it is because as a child, they were told what to do so now they want others to get a taste of it. There is a saying-- "misery loves company." Aren't all children told what to do?
Attachment parenting was introduced to the U.S. before it had that name by a book by Jean Liedloff called The Continuum Concept. She stayed with the Yequana tribe in South America for over 2 years. The parents never tell the children what to do, in this tribe. This helped to nourish the instincts of the children. They learned what to do by imitating the parents. These children never fought with each other.

If your child is in school and another child tells him what to do and when he does not follow it, he gets hurt, that is called bullying. When a parent does this, it is called parenting. How come students in school do not go around defecating in public? Because their parents do not do it.
People complain about studies that conflict each other so they do not know what is healthy to eat. Some people can say that they have proof that God hates them. God has created food that they love the taste of, but it makes them fat and is bad for health. Also God has created sunlight that is good for other animals but is bad for humans. Now there is a very simple way to determine if a food is healthy for you. How do animals in the wild determine what foods are healthy for them. They taste them. So just taste a food and if it tastes good then it it healthy for you. Although a rat will taste rat poison and it will taste good and cause the rat to die.
Do not stop reading yet since you do not know why the above does not apply to rat poison. Note that the word 'diet' has 2 meanings. One is what you normally eat. Another definition is to temporarily try eating different foods for a while.
So why is rat poison different than what other animals eat. The other foods that animals eat were created by God or nature. Rat poison is created by man. Companies that create foods, do not do it so you have something good to eat. They do it to make money. The fatter that you are and the more addicted to their food that you are, the more money they make.
You also have the same instincts that animals have. This is why a baby puts everything in its mouth, to taste it. So whatever tastes the best, is the best thing for your health. Although you need to look at how an animals eats. One thing is that the animal in the wild eats all foods raw, except for baboons and Tasmanian devils. When no one is looking, baboons and Tasmanian devils cook their foods. Just kidding.
Also animals eat only one food at a time. So for you to have this work for you, it means no processed food that is made by man. Processed food usually has salt in it. No naturally existing foods have salt in them. If you have a trail mix made with all organic and raw foods (salt is not a food) like fruits, nuts and seeds, you can still eat too much. But you cannot eat too much of a raw food eating it alone.
Try it out for yourself. If you start eating a single raw nut, seed or raw fruit, you will stop eating it when you have had enough of it. With the trail mix, you can eat too much of it. So this animal instinct is the best for your health that also includes being at your ideal weight. The diet or weight loss experts want to dictate to you what foods that you can eat and not eat just like a dictator does. As a child they were probably dictated to by their parents just like a dictator does.
With this you decide the best foods for you to eat. It will only apply to you. Don't tell someone to eat the foods that you eat. He needs to eat the foods that he likes. So maybe you will pick up a raw insect and eat it and like it. But that does not mean that your friend will eat it. With the paleo diet (short for paleolithic diet), they would have you believe that people from all over the world ate the same foods at that time. People in different areas have different plants and animals to eat so they did not eat the same foods. People living in a rain forest will eat completely different than people living in the desert. Once I was babysitting and holding a boy about 3 years old. The mother had cherry tomatoes growing in the yard. The boy liked the red color so he picked one. In his hand it was like a big tomato. There is a saying that you can never step into the same river twice. You could say that with natural (not processed) foods, you can never eat the same food twice. Each food that you eat of the same kind will be slightly different. Once I started eating a watermelon and it had no taste at all so I spit it out.

Say that you are stranded on an island that does not have foods that you are familiar with. You can just taste different foods and eat the ones that you like. The poisonous plants will taste nasty to you. Say that you find some toadstool mushrooms that are poisonous. You can cook them up and add some salt to them and eat them and die.
But if you try to eat them raw without any other foods, you will taste them and spit them out. As far as the paleo diet and eating meat, let us look at this from the above perspective. If you give a great steak from the best restaurant to a lion or tiger in the wild, they will not eat it. Meat eating animals love the taste of blood. So if you like the taste of raw meat, then go ahead and eat it.
Say you have a cat that eats cat food and you let it outside sometimes. Try giving it a dead mouse and it will act like it has just got the best gift. A mouse is meat. Paleolithic people did not have refrigerators. Meat has to be eaten right away or it will go bad. But different fruits and vegetables can last weeks and nuts and seeds can last months.
So with other diets people tell you that a food is good or bad for you and you can believe them or not believe them. But with the above strategy, you can know if a food is good or bad for you. Not only do I really love the taste of watermelon but it really makes me feel good when I eat a good bit of it. Just fry up some watermelon and add some salt and ketchup to it and eat. Just kidding!
As far as studies go, a study shows that lycopene in cooked tomatoes is more bioavailable. I wonder if a spaghetti company did the study. The U.S. federal government found that watermelon has more lycopene than tomatoes. So they tested to see how much more bioavailable the cooked lycopene was. Now you do not have to eat all of your food like this (raw and by itself). But at least you can use it to see if a food is really good for you. In the last year I tasted a cherimoya (also chirimoya) fruit for the first time. It is also called a custard apple. It tasted so good. I love the creamy texture of it like custard. Wikipedia says:

As far as suggestions to have your food digest better, try eating the juicy fruits first on an empty stomach. They do not need to be digested so they can pass though your stomach in 15 to 20 minutes. You can eat with the animal instinct diet first. This will feel you up so if you eat foods like cheese steaks and cake afterwards, you will have less room for them. People have a sweet tooth since fruit is great for health and man makes fake sweets just like they make rat poison. But if their foods kill you quickly then you will stop buying them. But if they kill you slowly, there will be plenty of new people from babies being born to replace you.

The best thing for weight loss or losing weight, if you weigh too much, is to stop consuming rat poison. The rat poison for you is processed food. So eat less processed food and eat more unprocessed food. Eating excess food can cause some to gain weight and is bad for health.
For example my mother had a metabolism where she could eat anything and not have excess weight. I inherited her metabolism. She ate lots of fattening unhealthy food. But she was thin enough to teach ballet at Julliard School for performing arts. She died at age 46 due to a stroke. I asked the doctor why she died so young. He said that she had the arteries of an 80 year old woman. At 46 many people thought she was around 26 years old from the way she looked.
