Beauty Lies Within

A beautiful romantic movie, about two people who formed a relationship, based on their love for each other, and not on their features.

I watched the movie three times and really enjoyed the way Alix Miller(Janine Turner)played her role.

There was nothing much to watch and while browsing I came across this story.

So much of emotions and insecurity that meets the eye of Leland Crompton(Jamie Sheridan), who held my focus on the movie, and I continued watching right till the end.

I had to know more.

The lovely woman arrived in New Hampshire to paint the portrait of Leland Crompton, he lived in a quiet place so not to be seen by anyone the isolation worked out for him.

The two met in a mysterious way after her arrival at the mansion she went for a walk in the snow and sketched some the Pine trees.

She walked further into the vicinity and stumbled over a twig sticking out from the snow.

When she rolled over on her back and moaned to get up Leland Crompton gaves her a hand to get up.

Alix Miller looked up surprised and accepted his hand to pull her up from the light fall.

A friendship is formed during her stay at the mansion. A man who was horribly disfigured closed himself from the outside world.

He was afraid of others looking at his scared face. While together they form an intimate understanding and develop a romantic bond.

He has a gentle voice and playing a part of a beast is an incredible act by Jamie Sheridan.

Beauty is from within and you know that when you see movies like this one it makes me think of how people look at beauty.

The Beauty and the Beast movie so perfectly done but in this version it is truly worth watching more than once.

If you are feeling insecure about your appearance then take a look at this movie. You would be moved by how two people formed a bond without the idea of their appearances.

Here the love they saw in each other’s eyes, and that created a wall between their eyes of beauty.

What she saw in him, is what nobody else could see. His love for her and kindness of a true individual who opened her heart for a man, and it was not about materialism.

The best in you comes from within not from what is on the outside.

A warm kind-warmhearted man who won't even go shopping because of the way he looked.

His face scared children in public places and he had his heart broken once before with a woman he dearly loved. Nothing came of that relationship for Leland Crompton would not let it be.

He was not free for her and wanted what he preferred was best for him. To be isolated rather than to be in public places.

  • How do you see love and beauty?

  • Is there a chance of you loving someone but won't go further because you are afraid of what they would say about your looks?

  • Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder but how many of you think that way?

Every individual is beautiful in their own way.

If you love someone then be with them don't be insecure of your feelings and their appearances get in the way of your love.

You love them for who they truly are not for what you want them to be.

  • You can't change someone to love them can you?

Everybody should watch this movie. To learn the moral of this romance story. Love and friendship should come first before looking at the beauty of an individual.

You can fall in love with someone who has a sacred face.

This was a friendly story, and it created something between two people which I personally think was such a beautiful feeling.

An amazing movie the chemistry shows so much more than what he thought of himself as the beast.

The painting of a portrait had formed such a meaningful friendship, and the intense feelings flourished and it made her forget she had a boyfriend back home.

The portrait brought out a magnificent feature one not even he had dreamed of and finally accepted to look at in the art gallery where she placed it.

Lelanf Crompton had developed Acromegaly a disease which produces large bones and once grown it can't be fixed.

A disease that affects the enlargement of both hands and feet, and the facial bones.

He was afraid of being hurt again and did not know how to cope with this relationship.

This man shows this woman his feelings and that he too can feel, talk, run and jump like any other he just looks different to other people.

It was a touchy movie and the ending was beautiful.

I don’t look at others as beautiful or ugly plain looking or simple looking to me kindness is more important.

What is on the inside is matter more than what I see on the outside. Never judge a book by it s cover is just what I mean.

People are in different shapes, and sizes, features are unique so one should be treated with love and not differently because they don't look good enough to your eyes.

To someone else they do look good.

What you see not everybody else sees.

  • What is more important beauty or kindness?

  • Does beauty matter to every person?

Mostly people choose individuals with physical traits this includes the beauty something society can't get rid of.

  • Taking care of your hair, skin, nails and body to be beautiful but do you always have to put beauty before age?

  • Do you not think personality should matter more than beauty?

Beauty is part of you that is who you really are no matter what you look like thinking of changing that look is not going to work for you.

Why is beauty so important?

Beauty controls the lives of individuals to seduce one another and to get what they want whenever and with whomever.

The acceptance of beauty is uncontrollable.

Beauty and intelligence has a great difference. If someone is beautiful they will get by in this rough world even though they are not intelligent enough. They would get that job with a low fitted top or with an effective smile.

Beautiful people can be ugly on the inside. A part about them you don't always see right away.

The common values you hold in society is based on the physical appearance.

Not only do these people seem to be more beautiful, but also a lot uglier 'on the inside'.

Beauty holds the cards to better jobs and personality and intellect does not control such situations.

I think ones perception of beauty reflects on how one thinks and lives.

The way you were raised to believe certain things in life and beauty is part of the growing up deal.

What you were taught is what you believe when older and this goes on for many generations.

Trying to prove to others who is more beautiful than the other is no problem once you think that way.

People say beautiful for convenience you can' t say that one is beautiful on the outside because that definitely would be awkward.

When someone is beautiful on the inside that person is good warmhearted or kind to you.

The inner beauty is another matter altogether. Physical appeal is by no means determines a person’s traits at least not directly.

The not so good looking as you will say can be horrible or kind to you, likewise even pageant queens can have hearts of gold or stone.

  • Ever thought about that?

Don't look for that good looking person think of the warmth and the kindness they have to offer.

Hi DDE. You are so right in saying that kindness is more important than beauty. I would even say that if you haven't any kindness than you haven't any beauty either--I don't care what you look like on the outside. I haven't seen this movie, but it certainly looks worthwhile.

Hi DDE, I truly accept your opinion that character and virtues of a person mean a lot more than beauty. A person should never be judged based on beauty. I haven't seen this movie but would like to.

I truly believe true beauty comes from the heart. If one's heart is full of love, then that person is truly a beautiful person, whether beautiful on the outside or not in the eyes of the world's view.

      Up and more and sharing

      Hugs and blessings, Faith Reaper

I strongly believe that the inner beauty is more important than physical beauty. Some people who are beautiful on the outside can be quite mean and shallow.

This is one of the most profound hubs ever written. Beauty is mostly what is inside a person. However, unfortunately, we are judged societally and culturally by outside beauty which is erroneous and quite immature in its contextual basis. True beauty is indeed within. Some of the most beautiful people in history were judged as plain even ugly e.g. Eleanor Roosevelt and Miss Bethune while some of the ugliest people in history were classified as beautiful e.g. Irma Grese, concentration camp guard and Jochen Peiper, butcher at Malmedy.

Hello gmwilliams so kind of you to comment here beauty is indeed from within but society has other ideas well mentioned of the characters thought to be ugly. Thank you for taking the time and sharing whats on your mind. Your questions always give me more to think about. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to you!!

Hi Devika, I like this very much. My grandmother (Mammaw) use to say: "Beauty is as beauty, does." She was saying that no matter how beautiful a person is outside, if they are bad or evil on the inside, you can see it in the things a person does and how that person treats other people.

Physical beauty can so easily be the reason why a person is downright ugly in the inside.

It is most certainly the inner beauty that matters. But also, we mustn't overlook that often that inner beauty radiates to the 'outside', which is the 'other side of the coin'.

In the movie, the heroine's inner beauty shouldn't be ignore or diminished just because she also has classic beauty. I know people whose good looks are almost held against them and create an obstacle for them, which is as sad as when lack of good looks are held against people & create obstacles for them. We shouldn't forget the generosity of seeing a person for who he or she IS, rather than focusing on the externals - both for those with beauty and those lacking it.

I love that you completely saw and appreciated the message of this movie, which I've not seen, but you've made me want to see it!
