The Best Medicine: Laughing
Laughter is the best medicine, especially when dealing the intricacies of life. A person never know what life will bring to him or her. Life, whether it is expected or not, will present challenges as I mentioned in my first blog. At that moment, some people do not know how to handle or react when that predicament stow upon them. Being sad or worrying do no good for anyone; they demote health for a person. On the other hand, laughter promotes health, which is why laughter is the best medicine, plus laughing is free, haha. Laughter is infectious in a good way and it can bind people together and increases happiness and intimacy. In science term, laughter strengthen a person's immune system, increase energy levels, decrease pain levels, and protect someone from the diminishing effect of stress. There are certain situations like death that is no laughing manner, and while grieving and feeling sorrow is the natural process when dealing with matters like that. It is best to transition as quickly as possible to something positive, because someone can stay in a long state of agony and despair if this does not happen. Being depress not only leave a person with a diminishing state of health, but can affect his or her surroundings. For example, friends and family will worry about that person and may not want to be around him or her, cannot properly function at work, can leave someone mentally, spiritually, and physically crippled. While it may not be easy to do in some cases, finding happiness or doing something positive like laughing is the best way to deal with adversity; a person needs to move as quickly as he or she can into a positive state when dealing with challenges for the sake of that person's well being. Just as laughter can be infectious so can despairing and feeling sorrow can affect not only that person but the people that person interact with or influence by on a regular basis. There are some activities people can do who are going through hard times such as: Watching comedy, reading funny pages, going bowling, doing something silly, playing with pets, etc.
