The Goal is the Obstacle
We all, deep down, wish for true peace and happiness. Yet, we at times may forget that we are endowed with these qualities at birth. We have the freedom to experience them whenever we wish. The conditions need not be perfect; In this physical realm nothing is perfect anyway. We have to look past the imperfections to see reality. Reality is a constant flux between polar opposites. Once this is seen, we begin to view the world much like an actor would view a play. Engaged and involved in the evolution of the story, but silently detached, knowing it's all impermanent. As we come to understand that this world is impermanent, and that what's impermanent cannot hold our true identity, we see that this world cannot hold our true identity. We see that who we truly are, we have been all along. We are the cosmos. We are the infinitesimal quarks that comprise the universe. We are the unfathomable potential of all that is. We are beyond all name and form, existing beyond and yet parallel to this thing we call a body. Birth and death cannot contain us. Knowing this, we can rejoice in silent contentment, boundless gratitude and eternal peace. At last we can take control of ourselves and the stories we write.
