The Journey to Manhood
So it begins!
So today, after moving to a completely new country, out of my parents' place and into my own, I've finally come to the realization of how much my parents have sacrificed and given me. For 20 years I've always expected everything in life to be easy. Life has a tendency of throwing obstacles ones way, and it doesn't seem to be as interesting as the movies make it out to be. Being here in the Netherlands for only 12 days now has shown me how fast my wallet loses weight, how much of a child I truly still am, how mom giving advice on what to wear and cleaning my room was a blessing. Now don't get me wrong, even tho I miss those things that made life so easy, I am very glad I moved here and am up for the challenge. It feels good to do things on my own, to be able to finish a task all by myself.
I am ready to face the challenges of adulthood and hope that I can achieve my goal. I've two major goals in life; One is to be a diplomat and someday become the United Nations Secretary-General, and the other to be a respectful and respectable man, a true gentleman and a good samaritan, both of these goals of which I believe go hand in hand. I truly hope that by the end of this I've become a true gentleman and achieved my goals. When it comes to becoming a gentleman of course 95% of it consists of behaving like a gentleman, but having the appearance of a respectable man goes a long way.Through all of this I'll be documenting the obstacles I face and lessons I learn, not only to share the minuscule amount of knowledge I have, but to learn from this worldwide community we know as the internet. So I invite you to embark on this journey with me, for those of you who think you can learn a thing or two from me and to those that have something to teach. Let us embark on this journey to adulthod, or in my case, manhood.
