Despair is Never Heard or Known!

Short Stories and poems with deeper meaning than what is visibly seen on the surface. Enjoy!

Incredible Bird

Joshua

As I write this poem, and choose the images of such diverse and colorful birds, I think of my younger son, Joshua, because he has taught me so much about all the different kinds of birds, even down to the actual sounds that each particular bird makes! Through him, I have learned to immensely appreciate all of nature.

Songs of Freedom

I sing songs of freedom

that linger through the air;

They are full of hope and peace,

and never is heard despair!

Each morning I sing out my gifts,

and I end each day the same;

My songs are present all day long,

and my joy no one can tame!

I have no time to consider days

that are mournful, or too sad;

I am too busy with my songs

to be anything, but glad!

I sing songs of freedom

that linger through the air;

I am a Songbird,

and my songs I love to share!

Simple Joys

Taking the time out to listen to the birds singing their songs is one of those simple joys, I believe, that honors us with the privilege of being able to experience small glimpses of what we can look forward to in Heaven.

      If I could glimpse through a child’s eyes

      at all the wondrous beauty that they see,

      My eyes would drink in so much joy,

      and these captivating feasts would satisfy me!

      I would see the sun glossing a sugar-pink rose,

      and a turquoise river flowing wild and free;

      There would be rainbows on every corner,

      with colors, (as an adult), that I shall never see!

      If I could glimpse through a child’s eyes,

      at all the glorious treasures that they see,

      My mind would dream of bedazzling things,

      and my lips would speak in poetry!

      I could see sparkly purple jewels,

      falling through a blue, velvety sky at night,

      And I would be able to touch each one,

      and then slide down their glittery trail of light!

      If I could glimpse through a child’s eyes,

      at all the precious magic that they see,

      I would forever be enchanted,

      for it would be from my heart that my eyes did spree!
