The Magical Windows of the Mind - An Experience with Vision

Popular Belief

Contrary to the popular belief that the eyes serve as the windows to the Soul, in fact the eyes are the windows to a Mind that have made a Soul Connection. When vision becomes impaired, whether slight mal-focusing to acute blindness, it indicates that the mind needs to heal. The process of the mind healing is a very delicate task that only God can undertake. The best bet that I have found is to wear spectacles that will slowly and gradually refocus the injured eyes as they begin readjusting themselves to the acceptance of light, such as sunlight.

An Amazing Discovery - A Personal Experience

Throughout my life, I have had difficulty with clear vision, usually nearsightedness, as a result of a severe case of German Measles. I tried avoiding the use of eyeglasses, thinking they would make me unattractive during my formative years, until I entered the ranks of the duly employed. At that point, I invested in contact lenses and wore them every day. My vision was temporarily improved, but the lenses did not serve as any corrective measure to my poor, injured eyes.

One day, a calamity of circumstances landed me in a Forensic Hospital. One of the medical exams that they felt necessary was an examination of the eyes. I sat in the examination chair and the doctor kept adjusting the prospective lenses while I made the effort to read the standard eye chart, top to bottom. When a particular adjustment was made, I proceeded to read the ENTIRE eye chart, including the achievement of reading the very the very bottom line (intrinsic focus required).

This ability was a first in my entire lifetime. Needless to say, I was very excited. When the associated, single focal spectacles were made and delivered to me, I continually practiced looking and focusing on everything in sight. I was truly amazed at the things I saw.

Discernation:

Many years have passed since the days when my perfect vision glasses were the popular style and the only glasses I needed to wear. Eye exams led to bi-focals, tri-focals and progressives. My vision started to once again decline. I could feel the strain and the ineptness in proper focusing. These inept products of popular style were hurting, not helping, my ability to see.

Aside from learning that near-sightedness is a result of physical (body) "trauma" and not able to see far is indicative of a traumatized mind that needs to heal, I prefer 2 separate, single lens glasses - as prescribed toward improvement of both. This would mean a style round and wide enough to heal and protect direct line vision and full sphere peripherals. To each his own. But I still believe there is nothing wrong with being a little old-fashioned, even if a little goofy looking in style. One must have a sense of humor about life. For, surely, life is more important than mere aesthetics.

Note: To this day I possess my pair of MAGIC single focus all around perfect vision glasses. They will ALWAYS work - because I SAW 100% with a single lens. The difficulty is maintaining concentration when needed urgently, such as for working on my computer or driving. Times when concentration absolute could be absolutely critical. The reason is that FROM THERE (perfect vision glasses), it's only BETTER AND BETTER as life and body evolve inward toward the future and toward outward beauty: Inward serenity and outward beauty reflected ALL from the spirit of God felt within.

Post ACUTE - wellness of Vision:

Once acute wellness of vision is achieved, one may find that there are times when an active or genius of the mind requires concentration. One may switch to distance concentration lenses for such critical operations as driving. In addition, one may want to maintain a concentration for "near" concentration, as reading. Typically, SOME kind of concentration lens is necessary until a "SOUL MATE" makes eye contact: I.E. A "love" from a picture or a "love at first site."

For example:

I have NO IDEA who the little boy is in this picture, but I am TOTALLY "IN LOVE."

Yeah...I kind of feel the same way and have had similar experiences...I learned that if you concentrate on the rear license place of the vehicle in front of you it helps you judge...but it can get scary. I'd like to, but I am so afraid of eye intrusions at this point or prescribing those stupid progressives or other multi-focals that cause such unnecessary strain. I really don't know who to trust. Vision is so delicate. I'll get to it one of these days. Thanks...I appreciate the sharing.

You remind me of the day I discovered I couldn't do without glasses. I had just left college with friends for a pint down town one evening. Was still drinking those days but been sober for twenty years ever since. A couple of drinks into the evening made time move faster than expected until it was time to head back to college. On stepping out of the pub, I checked right, left then right again. I realized I couldn't judge how far each vehicle was by staring at its headlights. I have never panicked like I did that evening. I suddenly needed someone to hold my hand as I crossed the road. I somehow managed to get the bus to college. The following day saw me heading to the optician for a serious eye check. Verdict; I was short sighted. I have always donned spectacles ever since. I never trusted contact lenses for fear of contamination and having to jab my eye with my dirty finger nails.

Don't thank ME...I work for God like every other good human being on this planet. I am very thankful for the things God has permitted me to see and experience...every single day I open mine eyes in awe of what a miracle life really is. If something gets you down...just find a memory that brings back the true spirit of life until all you have left in your life is pure happiness. Enjoy.

      Very nicely written!

Being able to see everything aroud us (loved ones, nature, animals, food, books, etc..) is a fantastic gift! It's also fantastic that we can have eyeglasses to correct any problem that we could have with our eyes. I would not be able to write to you without them ;-)

Thank you for the ride in Disneyland :-) Thanks to our eyes we can have the pleasure to see truly beautiful world!

P.P.S. I can also HELP you, you know. I've been doing this for a LONG, LONG TIME. Even if you have to go back to GRAMMAR SCHOOL to relearn what you already KNOW. Start with little POEMS...then try little stories...you don't have to write a dissertation as your first project!

It's the one about Beauty Advice for the Young at Heart or Young in Age. The Age of Miracles may have just arrived. Or at least...it may be on the way. I've got a really good feeling about it, personally. You should try expressing yourself in writing more. Use Hubs for practice. Learn how to express your doubts, beliefs, eternal questions, emotions, happiness etc. in writing. It's good for the soul.

Don't have faith in me...have faith in yourself...and KEEP THE FAITH...just in general. Even in the worst of times there will always be a ray of hope. There are HOLY people on this planet, afterall. I'll refer you to one of my other hubs...the one about following all the right rules for all the right reasons. Can't think of it off the top of my head...but that's the one.

Have a Good Evening, or Morning, or Afternoon...or whatever your time zone.

      Love,
