The Mystery Chip(HET) That Warns Asthma Patients Before Attack
There are so many diseases out there. So many diseases kill so many people all over the world.
Even today’s medical science does not have any cure for these diseases and one of these incurable disease is an Asthma disease that we will going to discuss today.
There is no cure at all for Asthma. Doctors can only provide preventive measures to asthmatic patients.
These asthma patients rely on the mercy of God that by somehow they do not get asthma attack and if an attack occurred, then they can apply preventive measure provided by the doctors, so that it can stop the attack fast without becoming the reason of immediate death of the patient.
The burden of asthma, measured by disability and premature death, is greatest in children aged between (ages 10-14) and the elderly (ages 75-79).
What is COPD?
There is another term called COPD.
This is an umbrella term used to describe diseases related to the lungs for example: emphysema, chronic bronchitis, refractory (non-reversible) asthma, and some forms of bronchiectasis.
Now Let Us Disclose The Secrets of Mystery Chip
Okay, It is time to talk about the chip, So let us start:
The chip is basically a part of a system called as HET (Health and Environmental Tracker System) and the goal behind this is to develop a system that can predict the asthma attack of the patients and warns the patients as early as possible, so that they can take necessary preventive steps to stop the attack like : going indoors or stop exercising, or getting away from the polluted environment etc.
The HET system (Health and Environmental Tracker System) includes sensors that can track the heart rate, respiratory rate, the amount of oxygen in the blood and wheezing in the lungs.
The HET system consists of sensors incorporated in the form of a wristband and a patch that adheres to the chest.

The testing phase of HET System is not over yet. Veena Misra, co-author of the paper and a professor of electrical and computer engineering at NC State stated that they have tested the system on a limited number of asthmatic patients for proof of concept demonstration and confirmed that all the sensors work correctly and the system accurately compiles the data.
She said that “This summer they are planning for testing this system on the large group of asthmatic patients in a controlled environment in order to identify which environmental and physiological variables are effective at predicting asthma attacks.”
“Once we have that data, the center can start developing software that will track patient data automatically and give patient advance warning of asthma attacks,”
Hindered by asthma since I was six weeks old, I had begun experimenting with my diet and discovered a disquieting correlation. When I stopped eating the normal American diet of sugar, fats, alcohol, chemicals, and additives, I felt better. I could breathe freely. When I tried to sneak in a hamburger and a Coke, my body rebelled. PaulHawken
