The Power of Positive Thought

Updated on August 29, 2012

The Power of Positive Thinking Will Smith

I have always believed in the power of positive thought. One of the most famous purveyors of positive thinking is Norman Vincent Peale. His book "The Power of Positive Thinking" actually changed my life. He believed that if you live your life with a positive mindset, good things will come to you. I wholeheartedly believe in this. The universe will give back to you, what you give the universe. Therefore, negative breeds negative, and positive breeds positive.

Change the way you think

When people say that you should Change the way you think, most people think, it is easier said than done. Well it is, however once you get yourself into the habit of changing your thought process it will get easier. Habits of a lifetime can be hard to break. Therefore, it will take some time break certain bad habits. This is why you have to make a concious decision to change the way you think about things. If you believe that nothing good will ever come to you then, this will be the case. If you believe that your life can be what you make it, then this will be the case. Do you want a million dollars? Well if you want a million dollars and you believe that you can get that money legally by working hard and chasing your dreams, then it is possible. Never give up on your dreams and never give up on believing that your dreams can come true. Do you think that everyone who has ever been a success in life just woke up one day living the life of Riley? No they worked for it. Most highly successful people have a very different mindset. Most successful individuals have an unwavering self belief. Michael Jackson once said this; "If you want to be successful work hard for it, harder than the next man. You have to have an unwavering self belief. No matter what anyone says, you can achieve anything that you put your mind to"

He was right and is right, because nothing you want in life is impossible. Did you hear that? Nothing in life is impossible. Every day wake up, and tell yourself that your life can change, tell yourself that you deserve the best in life and that you are going to get it. Tell yourself that nothing will stand in your way. Tell yourself that you have the power within yourself to make it happen. Keep telling yourself this every day and every minute. The more you tell yourself this the easier it will be for you to believe it.

Believe in the power of hard work

One thing that a lot of people get wrong when trying to change the way they think and achieve their goals is; not believing in the power of hard work. If you don't believe in the power of hard work then you will never get anywhere. You can think positive until you are blue in the face if you don't believe that hard work is part of the equation you will be waiting for a very long time to get what you want. Alicia Keys once said; "Never understimate the power of hard work." She was right, there really is no substitute for hard work, if you think there is, then let me know. The person who works the hardest and has the most self belief will always win in the end. So keep believing that if you change the way you think and if you work harder and harder that your life will change for the better.
