The Seven Laws Of Attraction
Each of us has experienced a day where everything, and I mean everything has gone wrong. Your hair looked like a rat had slept in it, you burned breakfast, were late for work because the dog got out, almost got into an accident, everyone at work was a jerk, and the whole day was a heaping pile of this sucks upon a pile of this sucks even more, and when you got home all you wanted to do was go to bed to end the horrible day you'd experienced.
We've all experienced those good days as well where seemingly nothing can touch us. Your hair looked like you woke up in a beauty salon, breakfast was delicious and invigorating, you felt like a million bucks, drivers were unbelievably law-abiding and intelligent, everyone at work was splendid, and when you got home you thought, "Man, I wish all days could be like this!"
Some describe this as "waking up on the [right / wrong] side of the bed." But what's actually going on here?
As You Think, So You Become
This is an ancient saying, and like many sayings, has withstood the test of time because it's so true.
Scientists many hundreds of years ago noted that like elements and like bodies attract one another.
For example, water attracts more water, fire more fire, mercury more mercury, etc. In sociological terms, the same is said to be true: A crowd attracts a crowd, people with similar interests or backgrounds attract each other, etc. "Birds of a feather flock together."
What many philosophers have believed for thousands of years is that, like elements or people, energy also attracts like energy . We may not think about it much, but we are nothing more than moving masses of energy. Think of the atoms and particles spinning around within you, making up every part of your body. We are nothing more than an organized collection of energy!
If like energy attracts other like energies, that means that the energy we are giving off (positive / negative) will be the energy that we attract! Imagine that. It makes a lot of sense when you think about it. On "bad days" we are telegraphing our negative energies far and wide, and everyone can pick it up a mile away. On "good days" we are telegraphing our positive energies, and everyone and everything clicks into place.
If the energy "vibes" we're sending out affect our quality of life, can't we do something to attract more positive energies and more positive experiences? Yes!
Negative energy = Repels
Positive energy = Attracts
The Seven Laws of Attraction
We attract things into our lives by our beliefs, thoughts, words, and actions. In fact, some may argue that creation itself comes about through the use of these tools alone. An action can't be acted-out unless it began as a thought. Thoughts affect actions, beliefs affect words, and in the end we find that these four criteria are inextricably interrelated and co-dependent on one another.
But what does that mean to us, exactly? It means that as we think, so we become. What we think translates into how we act, what type of energy we exert, and what types of circumstances, energies (positive / negative), and people we attract to ourselves. It all begins with a thought, so we need to make sure we are thinking in a way that gets us what we want.
Have you heard of the seven laws of attraction before?
This brings us to the Seven Laws of Attraction. I'll list them here and outline each one separately below:
- The Law of Manifestation
- The Law of Magnetism
- The Law of Unwavering Desire
- The Law of Delicate Balance
- The Law of Harmony
- The Law of Right Action
- The Law of Universal Influence
1. The Law of Manifestation
"We don't see things as they are; we see things as we are." -- Anais Nin
Whatever we focus our energy or attention on becomes manifest in our lives. It's as much about how we perceive things as how we react and make choices based on these perceptions. We should constantly ask ourselves what we are focusing our consciousness on, and what type of experience this will create for us now or in the future.
Be sure to manifest things in your life that are positive and lead to personal growth and development. Try to give the benefit of the doubt to people and circumstances. If you haven't already noticed, sometimes our perceptions can be incorrect, and taking a positive view of things cannot generally hurt anything.
Positive thoughts = Positive manifestations / outcomes
Negative thoughts = Negative manifestations / outcomes
2. The Law of Magnetism
"Whatever one sows, that will he also reap." -- Bible, Gal 6:7
The law of magnetism is basically karma--the law in the universe that deals with cause and effect / action and reaction. The energy that we radiate is the same energy that will respond to us and bring us [positive or negative] consequences.
One way to remember this magnetism thing is to think of a magnet. One side is positive and one is negative, kind of like a yin-yang. The magnet might attract positive energy and positivity, or negative energy and negativity. Likewise, the energy that we will receive back either in the short- or long-term depends on what we've given out to the universe at large.
Want to have a good day? Have positive beliefs, thoughts, words, and actions. You'll notice that when you decide to be positive, it builds on itself until you reallyare in a great mood. Have you guessed why? The energy you decided to present to the universe was positive energy, and the universe responded in kind.
We are part of a network of energy as large as the universe / creation. What we sow, we will reap in terms of positive and negative energy
3. The Law of Unwavering Desire
"What one man can do, another can do." -- The Edge (movie)
When our intentions are pure, positive, directed, and free of doubt, good things will come our way--the things we wish to come our way, in fact. Expending our energies and consciousness on the core things we want out of life is a pretty good idea, don't you think?
Dream big, and if you have pure, unwavering desire, you will get whatever it is you wish, work, and wait for. Tunnelvision is kind of the name of the game here. "Keep your eyes on the prize."
Focus your beliefs, thoughts, words, and actions on things you'd like to attract to your life. Envision yourself as having already accomplished your desires, and keep that picture going to encourage a positive result
4. The Law of Delicate Balance
"Don't turn this way, don't turn that way, straight down the middle until next Thursday. Reverse to the left, then back to the right, twist and turn 'til you've got it right. Get the balance right. Get the balance right." -- Depeche Mode
Despite a pure intent for whatever it is we focus our energies to attain, sometimes we may become desperate or overly anxious to make the process hurry up. We want our new kayak, car, 10-acre plot of land, wind turbine, etc.--and we want it now.
Not so hasty. The law of delicate balance says that we need to enjoy and value what we have in our lives right now. Desperation or anxiousness is not a positive energy, and may push other people away, as well as the objects or outcomes of our desires. The goals we have already attained should be positively remembered and cherished, not forgotten and tossed to the side when something new comes up.
The delicate balance is to not become fixated on our goals at the expense of everything else we have in our lives. Cherish what's already there, and be glad to have the ability to work on further goals. If we balance what we have with what we still desire, it's much more likely that our energies will pay off, and sooner.
Cherish and be grateful for what you already have, while working toward new goals
5. The Law of Harmony
"Because our entire universe is made up of consciousness, we never really experience the universe directly; we just experience our consciousness of the universe, our perception of it." -- Alan Moore
Humans do not and cannot live separately from the universe and creation; we are all part of it and of it, and posess the same energy (consciousness) that pervades the entire cosmos.
We must work to align our energies within our own bodies, with others (people, animals, nature), and with the universal flow that pervades all of creation. This alignment will allow us to tap into and access the insights, power, and boons that the universe has to offer.
When we consciously choose to align ourselves with the universe, the abundance available to us is limitless. The universe has a lot to offer, and when we are harmonious with nature and the cosmos, that's when things really start to happen for us.
The positive energy is out there, freely available to all who "tap into" it.
Plug in, turn on, tune in, and realize that you are part of the universal energy and consciousness. Be harmonious with the universe and its floodgates will open for you
6. The Law of Right Action
"Come on people now, smile on your brother; everybody get together and try to love one another right now." -- The Youngbloods
The energy that we release to the world is self-perpetuating. When we promote value, honor, dignity, and universal respect in our daily lives, these attributes are returned to us as fair exchange. However, if we choose to promote more negative and hurtful energies / consciousness in our lives, that is what we'll get in return.
As conscious entities we have a duty to choose "right actions," or those actions which foster love, respect, harmony, and oneness with creation. Our reward is a greater feeling of connectedness with the universal consciousness, and all of the positive things that go along with being a "conscious" and "conscientious" part of it.
Everybody has the choice many times each day to either ignore or embrace somebody; turn a blind eye or speak out about something; correct one another's actions and remind each other that we're all in this together; get the balance right in our beliefs, thoughts, words, and actions.
At every juncture we must ask ourselves, "Is this a positive action? Am I being harmonious and accepting, or could my thoughts and actions cause grief or pain?" We get what we give. Choose wisely, and when the choice is difficult, ask yourself how you would like to be treated in this life, and treat others that way.
The energy you release to the world is self-perpetuating. You get what you give
7. The Law of Universal Influence
"There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self." -- Aldous Huxley
Imagine a drop of water hitting the smooth surface of a lake, and its circles of energy ringing outward, outward, and ever outward.
Like this example, the actions and attitudes we have, and the energies we expend range ever outward into the world and the cosmos. We have the power to make ripples in the universe, and depending on our mindset, they can be positive or negative ripples.
Every belief, thought, word, and action of ours affects everyone around us with a ripple effect. Our family and friends, their family and friends, and ultimately the whole cosmos are influenced by the energy vibrations (consciousness) that we are putting out there.
We are all connected, and everything we do, no matter how small, affects everything and everyone else.
Positive energy will spread to all of our circles of influence, as will negative energy. Choose wisely, for as we've learned, we get what we give
Your actions are like ripples in the universe, affecting everyone. Realize your part in the cosmos and choose to spread positivity!
