The U.S. Military Needs Viagra
One can certainly see how many crude jokes about why the Department of Defense spent over $500,000 dollars for troops in the field. Do soldiers fight better with a hard on? Does it actually hinder their ability to focus on the enemy? Does Viagra give an adrenalin rush?
Whatever the reason is, the US military uses 60 contractors to distribute free Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra. This is a free medical benefit that has been offered since 1998. Then, the pill cost $10, today it is $25. Soldiers seeking the ED pill must go through counseling and have a valid reason for needing it. Many soldiers seeking it suffer from PTSD returning from Iraq or Afghanistan and have problems sexually with loved ones. Soldiers are only given up to six pills at a time once approved. Of course, all the other types of male sexual toys are available also, like, vacuum appliances (penis pumps), penile implants and testicular prostheses or hormones for ED.
Sometimes, even the magic pills fail to create a needed erection and psychological sessions are required to address ED. Sex is mostly psychological for a man or woman. Assuming that an erection did not last more than four hours (is that even remotely possible?), the amount of ED drugs the military has spent comes to almost 81 hours of erections!
ED seems to be on the rise, LOL.
