White Tea Has Been Used as Medicine for Centuries

For centuries, tea has been used for medicine. Currently, there are discoveries made by modern science which people from Asia have known for quite some time: tea is beneficial. While black tea and green tea are quite healthy, the least processed of all tea is white tea with the highest levels of antioxidants. As a matter of fact it may just be the top drink for health.

Antioxidants in White Tea

Nutrients that give your body protection from damage due to free radicals, antioxidants have a tendency of wreaking havoc on your body, accelerating aging and damaging DNA. What antioxidants do is take the free radicals and neutralize them. These protective nutrients are loaded in white tea.

Many benefits are offered by white tea because of this. Not only do symptoms of diabetes become alleviated, it also prevents diabetes, reduces blood sugar, increases energy and reduces stress. White tea gives you protection against stroke, heart disease and cancer. Symptoms are eased and recovery is promoted for many conditions as well besides the ones mentioned. White tea build healthy skin, strengthens teeth and bones, the immune system and the circulatory system.

Studies also suggest that your body may burn more fat due to the higher metabolism that white tea causes. However, regular exercise and a balanced diet definitely produce these results as well. At the same time, drinking white tea won't hurt.

Free radicals from a poor diet, stress or staying in the sun too long can cause healthy skin to age prematurely. By being a 'free radical scavenger,' skin is protected by white tea and the damage is reversed. You get radiant, healthy skin when you drink white tea.

Antiviral and Antibacterial

A natural killer of viruses and bacteria, white tea antioxidants are so abundant that you get protection for the entire immune system diseases and invaders. You get protected against the common flu, cold and even the symptoms of HIV are eased.

Studies show that people who regularly drink tea have greater strength and bone density than people who don't drink white tea. There are also many benefits from white tea for people who suffer from osteoporosis and arthritis.

When you drink white tea, there is a large amount of protection against cells that cause cancer for various types of cancer including stomach, prostate and colon. One antioxidant class called flavonoids inhibits cancer cells growth and prevents new ones from developing. Some cases show that without the side effects involved, white tea works as well as prescription drugs for cancer.

Protection for the Heart

One group of catechins is known to reduce cholesterol and white tea is full of this. You probably know by now that there is bad and good cholesterol. White tea decreases the bad cholesterol while increasing the good type. It also helps improve artery function and thin the blood. High blood pressure becomes lower and you are guarded against stroke because of this.

By reducing cholesterol, lowering blood pressure and thinning the blood, white tea protects the entire circulatory systems and the hears. There are discoveries made by researchers that individuals who drink two or more tea cups a day have a fifty percent less chance of dying from a heart attack. Indeed, white tea really is a great heart tonic.

      Interesting and useful information on white tea . . . voted up. I switched from coffee to green tea and then green tea to white tea. I like a little caffeine in the morning so I make my tea 1 part black to 3 parts white. This can add flavor as well. This morningʻs pot was 3 bags Prince of Peace peony white tea and 1 bag Hawaiian Isles strawberry lychee black tea. I drink throughout the morning over ice.
