The latest craze in weight loss – How to lose weight with Magilim

Updated on February 20, 2015

Weight issues! Weighty issue?

Losing weight was a new thing to me as this is the first time in my entire life I had gained weight and now was thinking of losing it. In this article, I will talk about how I gained weight and strategies or methods I'm using to loose it.

Need to measure your weight?

Too much weight?

Magilim is an interesting product that I came across last year (2014). I had heard some of my friends talking about it but never thought it was anything for me to consider since there is too much negative information out there about weight lose supplements and almost anyone I meet has their own personal opinion and ‘advice’ regarding losing weight. Whether, it is truly scientifically proven, a cultural myth passed down from generation to generation or just someone biased thoughts. For the first time in my entire life I added much weight and this was the first time I was thinking of losing it as I had already experienced what adding weight meant.

Accelerated weight gain..

During my pregnancy I added a lot of weight and I felt “heavy” – not because I was carrying an angel inside me, but because I was too chubby for me. I added around 20 kilograms, from 64 kilograms to 84 kilograms on my due date. None of my clothes were fitting anymore. Actually, I had to put up with wearing slippers and open sandals especially during my last few weeks of pregnancy. My legs were swollen almost every other day. Four years earlier, I was 48 kilograms and before that, the most I have ever been was 50kilograms.

I enjoyed my pregnancy and did not mind the gained weight because I knew it was for a good cause and reason, I needed to eat, and eat for twoJ. I also admired plump babies from day one and I always wished mine would be chubby right from delivery room. I was so thrilled when my angel weighed 3.997 kilograms when weighed on the delivery day. He was all that I had wished and prayed forJ. I felt satisfied and was grateful I ate ‘well’. I could hold my baby in my arms comfortably without him ‘disappearing’ and I did not need the help of a breastfeeding pillow to feed him. He was big enough.

OMG! Too heavy?

Purposed to loose weight...,

I had purposed to loose weight including baby fat when my baby was old enough and well weaned to allow me to try various weight lose methods I have heard of or read about. After I delivered in May 2014 I lost about 10 kilograms within the first three months. Some baby fat was down without much struggle. After three months of delivery I got a very good appetite and ate more which made me add 5 kilograms within the next three months. My weight was fluctuating like fresh produce market prices in our local markets. For once in my life I was this big and had a large tummy. Fast forward 10 months after delivery, I weighed 79kilograms and now felt I needed to lose some of that at least to get back to my pre-pregnant weight of 64kg. By this time, my baby was well weaned and he loved his food, breastfeeding was now in the morning and evening when I returned after work.

Weight loss methods I used

I tried walking as an exercise, eating less food also known as dieting, eating more fruits, drinking more water and using a tummy trimmer, I lost 2kilograms in two months. That’s was great, I was happy with my progress. One day my friend sent me a Whatssup message about Magilim and remembered what she had told me about. It’s like she had read my mind about weight loss. I called her up and made a few clarifications including how to purchase it, side effects and how to take the supplement. I also Googled information about Magilim and was glad and satisfied with what I read. I decided to try it out together with my current “already working” strategy.

What is Magilim?

Magilim is a food supplement produced by Fukang Healthcare International Ltd. It contains cassia seed and bark, mulberry leaf among a few other ingredients.

How Magilim food supplement works

The main function of Magilim is weight loss.

The composition works properly in binding fat in the intestines, preventing some fat absorption. It dissolves fluids in the large intestine and forms a gel that binds with bile acids in the intestines. As a result, the liver converts more cholesterol to bile acids, and blood cholesterol levels are reduced. It slows digestion and the absorption of nutrients, resulting in a slow and steady release of glucose from accompanying carbohydrates.

It soaks up excess bile acids found in the intestinal tract - the same acids that are converted into blood cholesterol. The outstanding point of Magilim delays stomach emptying, triggering satiety (a feeling of fullness) that can be helpful in people trying to achieve weight loss goals.

Packaging and dosage of Magilim

Magilim comes packed in 200g capsules. One pack of Magilim which I took comes with 60 capsules. It is recommended that you take two capsules each time, two times a day. The capsules are orally taken with enough warm water (some people are taking with 250ml) 1 hour or at least 30 minutes before breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening.

Storage of Magilim

The storage of the supplement is a standard storage procedure just like any other supplement in the market. On the pack, it is recommended to keep out of reach of children. To store in a dry and cool place, protect from direct sunlight and avoid squeeze.

Side effects of Magilim food supplement

I consulted with my friends who had used Magilim before and they informed that there are side effects associated with Magilim though manageable. Magilim should be taken with plenty of water to prevent choking and blockage of the throat and intestines. Magilim can also cause constipation if you do not take with enough water.

Magilim reduces absorption in the intestines. Therefore, should not be taken when one is under other medication. It should be avoided when someone is going for, or after surgery, as it interferes with blood sugar. It is advisable for those with diabetes to seek a doctor’s consent before taking.

My progress..

I will keep you posted with my progress reports and results after finishing the first pack of Magilim and till when I achieve the desired weight. Please note as I mentioned earlier, I I’m not using Magilim food supplement as a sole weight loss strategy. I am combining other natural methods as they were slowly but surely working for me. Sometimes, it is good to combine what you know and what you are experimenting, maybe both will help you achieve the optimum desired results. Right?

In the meantime, be kind enough to share your weight loss strategies below on the comment or message box and let us build one another. It would also help if you mentioned the strategy together with how much weight you lost and over what period of time. It might be an encouragement to someone out there who is struggling with weight issues.

Happy living!
