Things That Make Your Acne Worse
Almost everyone in their lifetime has had acne problems. Acne can basically affect any race, sex and age group. It is essentially one of the most annoying chronic diseases today. Nowadays there are various types of treatments for acne starting from the sophisticated methods to the all natural ones. The success of acne treatment depends on the person and their type of skin. On the other hand, it is also important to understand the various factors that may cause your acne to become worse.
Washing Your Face
First of all, most dermatologists do not recommend someone suffering from severe acne to wash their face more than twice a day. Washing your face more than twice a day will not necessarily cure your acne but instead cause your face to dry up. This is actually counterproductive since dry skin has no protection against bacteria.
Another thing that may worsen your acne is having a bad diet. This goes without saying that eating excessive amounts of junk food and less fruits and vegetables may cause hormonal imbalance within your body. This subsequently may cause an outbreak of acne on your skin.
Also having dirty hair can cause a further outbreak of acne. This is simply because that dirty hair is filled will large amounts of bacteria and oil. If your hair drops or dangles on your face bacteria can be transferred and worsen your acne outbreak. It is recommended to regularly wash your hair to prevent this.
Don't Pop Your Acne!
It is also not recommended to pop your acne. This activity can break the tissue beneath your facial skin and spread the oils to stimulate the formation of acne elsewhere. Plus when you do this, it can cause severe scarring.
Proper Cosmetics ?
For women, it is also important to choose the most proper cosmetics. Basically, if you choose the wrong types of cosmetics, it may clog up the pores of your facial skin and decrease the circulation on it too. We recommend for women with acne problems to use more water based cosmetics since it may help reduce acne outbreaks.
Stress Causes Acne
Stress can also increase the production of oil on your face thus worsening your acne. Stress has also been documented to cause more sebum to appear. Basically sebum is dead skin cells that can cause obstruction of your pores thus causing acne.
Also, you must be careful in choosing the most appropriate types of acne therapy. One type of therapy may not be suitable for someone else. It is recommended to consult a dermatologist before you use any type of acne treatment. Sometimes you might be allergic to one type of treatment so you must be careful since this can also worsen your acne.
