Time Flying By

Time doesn't stand still.

There was a time when I was really depressed and it felt like time stood still for me then. In happier times, I remember looking out this window and the sun would set and I would just think I wish that could last forever. I thought it would always feel that way. Loneliness can also bring out thoughts of time standing still. Later, I realized those times never stayed the same for too long. It also made me get over the depression because I learned we don't have as much time as we think we do. Even the good times never last. If only we can all save the memories and keep them still in time. Especially memories of your first love...

Time Flying By

All I remember was you and me

The sweetness in the summer air

All my memories are of sunsets

And cotton candy in my hair

Laughter was always there

My senses seemed to be higher

It was true happiness that I thought

Would last forever

Smells were more intense

And for awhile time seemed to stand still

My joy was stunned for a while

At least until

Things started turning sour

And I didn't want to let go

But fate had another plan for us

So we had to follow

I miss that time though

So much I want it back

And forget all the nastiness

That took us off track

I don't know where you are anymore

Or even want to know

You changed and aren't the memory anymore

To which I do bestow

So I'll leave all of the memories

In the past where they belong

And think of it as a fantasy

That could be my song

With someone else

That will last this time

Forever and again

And you I know

Was a lesson learned

For me to never give up hope

Again.

Really enjoyed this hub. You clearly indicated that time does fly and often we just need to move on with our dreams and hopes regarding our tomorrows. Voted up.

Kenneth good question. I am not really that sure. I've had problems on here too with that. I just noticed that if I keep typing without hitting the return the lines are closer together. If I hit return after a few words there's a bigger space. Hope this helps! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours too!

Hi, dear carolinemd...I enjoy, okay, LOVE your comments and hubs as well. I have a question: How did you get the space between your lines in this hub to be decreased? When I write on the notepad for Hubs, they are spread out and Im not tech-savvy. If you can help, I appreciate it. And if not, that is fine too. I want YOU and YOURS to be Very Blessed at Christmas 2011 and New Year 2012 with peace, success, love and togetherness. Thats my prayer for you. And all of my loved followers.

Stessily- Thank you for your kind words. I found it to be very healing to go back in time and think of those memories one last time. :)

carolinemd21: Sometimes it is so sweet to skip back nostalgically to the past and dust off some of those memories, especially of love that lingers despite its seeming impossibility. Wishing for eternity from those brief moments in time and feeling as though time is standing still in loving relationships are often things hoped for or recalled, and they teach us to "never give up hope again." You have perfectly expressed such sentiments in this poem. Beautifully heartfelt!

Hello, My New Friend, carolinemd21! YOU are most welcome for the truth that I said to you. I meant every word. My parents taught me that there would always be two things I was never to waste: Time and Words. So I didnt. I LOVE your hubs and will make it a point to keep up with what you are doing. Im VERY HAPPY that I found you on hubs. YOU only ADD to my interest of this area of my life. As for "her," I chat with her often on Facebook, but when we talk in person, I feel chills run up my spine and my mind goes blank. I should convert these painful feelings into an absract/poem, huh? I have two already on hubs: "one evening at dusk," and "a final glimpse," not promoting, just sharing. I will go now. I do not want to wear out my welcome. Highest Regards and Respect to YOU, KENNETH

Thank you Kenneth for your sincere and heartfelt comment on my writing and all of the beautiful compliments. And I am happy that you confessed your feelings to your love. It is wonderful that you took that step and released those emotions. I wish you all the best of luck.:) I will be reading your hubs and following you too.

      Dear caroline,

Wow! What a hub. A touching, heart-moving hub. I enjoyed it with a nostalgic look back at that "someone" in my younger life that married someone else, but divorced. That was not good. I was then, and still now, insanely in love with her. And SHE KNOWS IT. I confessed my soul to her in 2000. What a burden lifted, but she is so close, but so far away. YOU have really touched me with your hub. What a sincere talent you are. Keep up the fine work. I VOTED UP AND AWAY. And now, I am honored to be a follower, if thats okay. With Highest Regards, Kenneth Avery, from a rural town, Hamilton, in northwest Alabama. My town resembles Mayberry--the town on the Andy Griffith Show. Hope to hear from you. KA
