Updated on March 12, 2013
  • Avoid the use of Drugs for sleeplessness. It can get addictive and cause a lot of damage to your liver in the long run.
  • Try a glass of warm milk after a warm bath.
  • If you are in bed and haven't fallen asleep, lie on your back, place your hands with the palms facing down on your stomach and do deep breathing for about 15 times. Then lie on one side.
  • A sniffing of any aromatic oil will help relax your nerves and help you sleep better.
  • Try not to think too much and stress and worry about things that may or may not happen. Don't make bed time a moment for recalling the ills of today and the tasks to be faced tomorrow.

  • Keep your Bedroom clutter free. Do try to avoid keeping television in this room as it can be quite disturbing to your sleep patterns.
  • Do avoid an afternoon nap as this will break your sleeping patterns at night and lead to restlessness.
  • Avoid consuming too much of caffeine intake be it a cup of tea, coffee, chocolates or aerated drinks.
  • Invest in a Good mattress as sleep is one of the basic necessities of life.
  • Have a light supper or dinner. Heavy food can cause uneasiness.
