Now a days people don't even think twice about trying something illegal. All it takes is a little peer pressure and before you know it you are in one hell of a downward spiral.

While there may be many different factors in whether you personally become addicted to drugs but there is research out there which tells us the risk of getting addicted is higher for some drugs then others. Some drugs you can develop a addiction on the first try, while other drugs it can take weeks or months before you feel the need to continue taking more and more.

The ranking system for the following drugs is out of 3. 3 being the most addictive drug in a short space of time and 0 being less addictive. You may notice that some drugs like cannabis do not make the list. This is because there is no physical addiction with cannabis only a slight psychological addiction. This study was conducted by a panel of Dutch experts in 2010. Their study showed us the drugs with the higher number to be more addictive then others with a lower rating.

For me personally I only use cannabis on occasions. Don't even smoke or drink and I can not understand, why its illegal when other substances, which are much more harmful and addictive, are legal to buy from your local shop. Politicians really need to sort this out, instead of wasting time and money trying to control it why not legalize and tax it. Spend the money on drug treatment for the harder and more troublesome drugs which have terrible effects on communities from stealing to prostitution. Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

If you or anyone you know is having problems with drugs there are websites out there that can help you beat the addiction. Nice article. I agree with you that cannabis should be legal. I have seen some withdrawal from alcohol it is nasty!
