Get Fit While You Work

Sitting at a desk all day can be a quick way to put on the pounds. But your desk doesn't have to be your enemy. With under-desk pedals, cardio exercise is easy to do while you work. They're quiet, easy to use, and you don't have to pedal too vigorously to get benefits. Studies have shown that even light exercise, such as walking, gardening or doing household chores, can help lower your blood pressure and reduce your risk of heart disease and obesity.

Mini pedals are a perfect way to reap the benefits of exercise while you're working.

Choosing Under-Desk Pedals

Under-desk pedals, which are also frequently known as mini cycles, can be used for toning both your upper and lower body. You can use them to pedal with your legs, or you can put the exerciser on your desk and work your arms.

When choosing your pedals, look for ones that include a cycle computer to show how long you've been exercising and how many calories you've burned. That will help you stay focused on your goals. You may also want to look for an adjustable tension knob, so you can adjust the difficulty as your fitness level increases. Some mini cycles also have straps to hold your feet on the pedals as you "ride."

You can also get cardio exercise with other mini exercise machines that you can use at the office. Alternatives for under-desk exercise are mini steppers and mini elliptical machines, both of which can be used for cardio at your desk just like the biking pedals. But whether you choose mini pedals or some other compact exercise machine, your body will thank you. Any exercise is better than no exercise.
