Understanding more about the Law of Attraction

Updated on March 5, 2012

I think that the law of attraction still has a lot to teach us. Depending on what level you are on in your life. I believe we go through different levels in life. In my early years I was brought up in a church. By that I mean really strict church. As I got older I began to find my own way. I began to ask questions, with God still as my foundation. I read different books, studied different religions. I opened myself up and allowed what the universe/God was showing me. At each stage of my life when I got to a crisis, it would redirect me back to my beliefs. But this time it wasn’t always the church but small things would reveal themselves to me. It was amazing how at each stage of my life, I got exactly what I needed. The lessons I learnt through whatever means were what I needed at that time. I often use the example of winning money. If I had won it years ago it would’ve destroyed me. I wasn’t near ready to receiving such a large amount of abundance. Not when all I did was beat the drum of not having enough. It’s amazing how each stage of my life brought me into a stage where I now understand abundance and what it really is. It has focused me; I’ve had to understand my relationship with money before I can even begin to receive this amazing abundance. I have to feel it before it can be it.

Allowing and letting go

Early stages of my life I wouldn’t have understood the true meaning of this. Some people still don’t. We have got to be careful how this is interpreted. I’ve read things where it says that you should just allow things to just be. If something or someone is not doing something that makes you feel uncomfortable, do you allow and let it go. People show up into our lives to show us things about ourselves that we need to learn. We have to understand our value and our worth. The main reason I believe we are faced with these situations is because there is something in us that is asking to be recognised. The reflections of behaviour that affect us tell us a lot about ourselves. We need to address them. We need to ask what is it that I’m believing about this statement that makes me feel so upset? The day my marriage broke down was the day I understood what I had to do. I understood that I was allowing what I didn’t want. I had to stand up for myself and say, NO this is enough. Only then did this stop reflecting what was coming back to me. I allowed and let go, by this I mean I got to the understanding that my ex partner wasn’t going to change. I allowed that, but I wasn’t going to stay in it. Do you see the difference? He was who he was and that was okay but I wasn’t going to hang around and stand for it. When you keep reflecting back to you what you don’t want, ask yourself what you are holding on to. It can be a very subtle message. ‘Oh I’m allowing, I’m letting go.’ And yet a person’s behaviour still offends you or someone is doing something you don’t like or feel comfortable with. Always acknowledge what is, then do what makes you free. You are living for you and if it doesn’t feel right in your vibration change it.

I had to learn this all over again. I had to learn that it wasn’t okay to sit in an unhappy relationship and that it was okay to fight for myself. When things reflect back to you it’s a chance to learn and understand what messages are coming from within yourself. It’s like a roadmap to finding your true self. Use each experience as a learning process, appreciate it and learn from it. That’s allowing and letting go. Don’t fight the process either. Law of attraction teaches us to focus on what we want but I truly believe that we can’t do that until we understand why we don’t want what we don’t want. Ignoring it won’t make it go away. Yes change your thoughts by all means but if something keeps cropping up, it means that there is something you are not acknowledging that you need to.

Our lives are an abundant and joyous journey. Even when you’re not there yet you can feel abundant and joyous. In the mist of it all you can have the life you desire. Trust that everything the universe is bringing you is taking you to that place you need to be. Allow it in, learn from it and let it go and go to the next stage of your life. Fight when you have to, cry when you need to, be bold be strong. There is no right or wrong path, the path just is. This is your life and you are exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Be blessed always

Hi Lizam1, yes it's great that certain things didn't happen in my life. It's like life knows what to bring you and when. I haven't had a chance to read finding Fiji yet but I'm definately going to have a look. Thanks for your comment and voting up.

Thanks you lawofattraction88, the more I let go of negative thought the better my life becomes. It's about being aware, like an awakening. I find that when I'm relaxed and let in positive thoughts, it makes the day go alot better and positive. Be blessed!

Thanks stessily,it does take time to relearn how to think positively but I'm realising that the more I do it the better I get at it. It's just the reverse of having negative thoughts. Postive thoughts are so much better. :)

Isn't it great when we can look back and say thank goodness that that did not happen and realize that now we are ready for it because we are in the right place and time. Enjoyed what you wrote. Not sure if you have had a chance to read Finding Fiji - the link is on my profile. Voted up and interesting.

From each life cycle we gain knowledge and experience. But most importantly we grow.

lin8t, Very well presented. It definitely sounds as though you are seeking to understand what needs to be recognized in your life. It is difficult, initially, to think of allowing, learning, and releasing, but with practice that outlook feels natural and is rewarding. An open mind is a peaceful mind.
