Use SparkPeople to Help You Lose Weight
One of the keys to losing weight is to eat the right foods and the right amount of food. You can eat super healthy and still over eat. One of the problems I have always had though, is knowing how much is too much. How do you know how many calories your body needs? SparkPeople will help you figure that out.
SparkPeople is an online website that will help you come up with a diet and exercise plan that will help you lose weight. You input your physical information along with how much weight you want to lose and it will tell you how many calories you should consume each day and how much exercise you should be getting. It doesn't end there though.
Once you are registered for SparkPeople you can login each day and input what you ate or are eating for the day. This will allow you to keep track of your calories. Do it at the end of the day to see where you stand and how you did, or do it halfway through the day to see how many more calories you can eat at dinner. Sometimes I will check after dinner and see if I have the calories left for a snack that night. This is the part of the website that I have found the most helpful in losing weight. It isn't a strict calorie count, but a range, which allows you more flexibility in what you eat.
This website is so much more than what I have mentioned though. There is so much information on nutrition, exercise, weight loss, and your overall health. There is an online community to give you support as you work to lose weight. There are dieticians and trainers in this community to give you professional advice. There is even a section that compares food choices. You can look at a list of all veggies, for example, and it will show you how many calories, fat, carbs and proteins are in each food. Seeing it layed out like this can help you make better choices.
