Sanskrit in Mantra, Singing Bowl
This is the wonderful book by Henry Marshall on Mantras " Musical Path to Peace" it comes with an audio cd. Mine has given me many years of pleasure listening and chanting along to the music.
Discovery of Vibrational Healing
I was extremely curious on hearing about Vibrational Healing in a DVD about Healing I had never even been aware of this concept in healing before. I have come across lots of references in all my spiritual books from India, for instances like the wise men, sages and yogis all spoke of universal energy.
The Ancient Sanskrit language is comprised of words that set up synthetic vibration in the body. Practicing by chanting, reciting mantras or simply using repetition of sacred sounds, maintains and promotes well being in the mind, body and spirit because of the effect on the body’s energy systems.
Chakras move energy around the body, with the main 7 chakras.
Toning to restore the vibrational pattern of the physical and subtle body, so that our spiritual essence can manifest more fully in our physical environment. The voice is the instrument of the spiritual self and can be used to heal you and to increase self-awareness.
Toning doing vowels of your name is good as well for instance, like “ooo” “aaaa” the “mmm”, ancient Hindu mystics used this to open the 3rd eye or 6th chakra, seat of intuition. The ancients knew that “mmm” stimulated the pineal gland that in turn energized the brain; hold the “mmm” for 15 seconds.
How to Tone
Experiment with your primary vowel sound of your name, closing your eyes and tone the sound slowly. Repeat for 5 to 10 minutes, you will find your natural pitch. You can have fun with this, quite relaxing as well.
Deepak Chopra on vibrational healing
Another wonderful book of Deepak Chopra, where he also discusses vibrational healing some wonderful tips and ways to better health.
Mantras, Chanting Vibrational Healing
Mantras, I discovered these about 8 years ago, I found this book by Henry Marshall with a CD and music sheets in it called Mantras A Musical Path to Peace. This one has 7 mantras you can listen to and hear the magical power of Mantras.
Chanting is repeating a mantra or a piece of sacred text to short phrases of tones. You will find a lot of chanting has religious origins for spiritual purposes to purify, energize and strengthen the mind, body and spirit. You also find that chanting can lift depression, avert danger and express joy. Christian mantras are the hymns that are sung in the church, it is very similar the energy that comes from a gathering all singing together.
One of my favorite is of the Dalai Lama Chanting the Heart Sutra Mantra for healing, it has magical properties, I will try and put the you tube clip on.
More sounds that stir the emotions:
Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mozart, Handel, Dvorak and Sibeluis, making you cry tears of joy you are so moved.
Music generates responses such as joy, sadness, love and reverence. Folk music connects to the heart chakra; reggae the root chakra, jazz affects the pineal, the 6th (3rd eye) and the crown. Aboriginal drumbeats open entire chakra system.
Flower Essences are also vibrational healing, I have newly discovered this as well. The Bach Essences have been around for many years, the most popular of all is the Rescue Remedy for its calming effect for exams and anxiety.

Tibetan Meditation Singing Bowl
This is similar to my own singing bowl, made from the 7 metals, it comes with a wooden striker to play it with. This one is 5 inches, they are great as a meditation tool, for visualisation, clearing the energy in room or clearing your own energy field.
Singing Bowl from Nepal
Singing Bowls originate from the 11th century BC, they are made from 7 metals.
7 metals are:
Gold for Sun
Silver for Moon
Mercury for Mercury
Iron for Mars
Copper for Venus
Lead for Saturn
Tin for Jupiter
Singing Bowls produce a huge range of sounds from the differences in their metallic content. Today they are used for meditation, vibrational healing and space clearing.
I go for a free Singing Bowl meditation once a month the last Saturday of the month at the Tibetan Teahouse in Simonstown. It is a wonderful experience, you will be able to use one of their bowls if you don’t own your own. They also have a chakra balancing one another day of the month, see their site for more information.
You also get crystal singing bowls, I have an audio on them, and here is also a lady in Cape Town that does them.

Ragas, Ganharva music
“The real you is invisible” Pramahansa Yogananda
Vibrational Healing goes way back 1000 of years; you will find it in all corners of the world where healers have used sound vibrations to effect conditions in the subtle body. If you look at shamans, medicine men and women that used chanting, shaking rattles, beating drums to alter these subtle body vibrations. The Tibetan Buddhist monks and doctors used similar methods to heal sick people.
One of the most soothing of all vibrational healing methods is the Indian “healing ragas” inspired from the Gita from the Vedic literature. These divinely inspired musical scales ease the pain and heal sickness of humans the Hindu believe the Gods provided them.
I have been listening to The Sounds of India by Ravi Shankar, where he explains that it is precise music with each raga has its own ascending and descending notes, subtle touches on particular notes.
More on ragas I read from Deepak Chopra:
The Gandharva Music Therapy (Melodies to Balance Nature).
He also discusses how these Melodies have universal effects that simply our bodies respond with changes that mirror varying rhythms of nature. Gandharva music is the vibrations that move through nature at all times. If you feel refreshed, alert and light the music is working, to some the sound might be strange to your ears but you can easily get used to it. I am listening to it as I am typing this, strange but resonates with me, haunting almost. The instruments used are the sitar and tabla, the Indian flute and the three stringed instruments Veena. Gandharva Veda Schools have sprung up all over the United States, Europe and India.
Healing Music Ragas
This is from the famous Indian musician Ravi Shankar, he explains about the ragas music, the notes on here, so haunting.
