       Walking is the simple,safest and one of the most effective forms of exercise.Not only does regular walking benefit our heart and lungs,but it also keeps bones, muscles and joints in good condition and most importantly helps us cope with the stresses and strains of modern day living.Walking does not require expensive equipment or facilities. Another bonus is that, walking can be enjoyed by all young and old at a time to suit our own schedule.

    When you walk at a brisk pace you should notice a little perspiration on your brow.This means you are exercising aerobically taking oxygen into the lungs at a faster rate than normal and getting the heart, lungs and blood vessels to work harder, helping them to become stronger and fitter.

    A regular programme of brisk walking offers the same health benefits as other forms of aerobic exercise, such as jogging and cycling.Regular walking contributes to the management of high blood pressure.

     Along with balance diet, regular walking will help control weight.There is evidence to show that regular exercise has a positive influence on cholesterol. Walking help prevent osteoporosis.
