Ways To Get And Stay Motivated To Be In Shape
Why Do You Want To Get In Shape?
Most of us are either overweight, or out of shape, or we are no longer happy with our own body. So we try different fad diets, or programs that will help us loose a ton of weight in a short time. Which are a temporary fix to a permanent problem. However the truth is that we all know exactly how to get in shape, it’s just difficult for us to get in the gym, to eat less food and most importantly stay motivated. So how do you stay motivated in staying in shape?
Never Work Out Alone
Whether you hire a trainer, or find a good friend to work out with, have someone you have to meet to work out with. Set up a time with the person that works for both of you, because then you won’t be able to back out. If you don’t have a friend that is able or willing than you may have to get a trainer which will cost additional money. If neither of those options works for you due to lack of money or lack of friends, there are many online sites that have other people like you trying to stay in shape and will give you the needed encouragement to go on.
Don’t Exercise, Have Fun
When I first starting to go to the Doctor when I realized how bad my health was getting his suggestion to me was to not work out at all. Instead, find something you enjoy that you can see yourself doing 3 times a week for the next 20 years and do that. For instance, if you love playing tennis play several times a week. Golf? Play it more often then you currently are. I truly do like going to the gym and working out so it was easy for me but I also love playing tennis so I found another friend that enjoys it as well and we scheduled a weekly game every Saturday which helped us both get into shape. So by doing this you don’t really feel like you’re working out any more you are simply having fun.
Get Something Done You Can’t
Most of us find that we don’t have enough time in the day to get everything we want done. Many of us feel we should read more books, or keep up to date with the common things going on in the world. So take that with you to the gym, if you want to read more find a book you can download the audio of and listen to it well you work out. I love listening to podcasts, especially the smart passive income by Pat Flynn, and going to the gym allows me to do this with ease and gives me another reason to go to the gym so that I can listen to my podcast.
We all want to be in shape even if it’s for seemingly shallow reasons such as to “look good”. Some want to just be healthy, or live longer. None of these reasons are wrong, but they in themselves won’t keep you motivated. Hopefully, with these few ways of staying motivated you can not only start getting in shape but stay in shape.
