It really depends on your desire to live. If you really want to conquer diabetes then you have to take control of your life and habits. Unless you were born with type 2 diabetes then you can beat it. There are some people who believe that living with diabetes, means that you can not have any good food. This is all a myth, diabetes does not mean that you can not have your cake and eat it too. You just cant eat all your cake (at one time). Its time to take a look at yourself and see what you can do to change the out come of having diabetes.
Diet is the biggest thing that most doctors and diabetics look at. If you have type 2 diabetes then you need to look at your eating habits. They need to change. You could start eating like a rabbit. I am sure that most of us know what a rabbit eats, and its not anything good. If you do not know then find a rabbit and follow it around for a few days. I am sure that you will agree that eating nothing but green food is not the way you wan to go.
Diabetic diet guidelines are there for you to follow. It really depends on how much you want to live. I like to look at these guidelines as a coach. The coach is there to guide you through your fight against diabetes. He tells you what to do next. The diabetic food list will tell you the same thing. Note, you are allowed to stray out of the lines a time or two. What matters most is how quickly you can get back onto the path.
If you are overweight then going on a diabetic diet can help you in more ways then you know. If you have yet to be diagnosed with diabetes then losing weight help keep that from happening. Personally my last visit to my doctor, he informed me that I am in the class that will one day become diabetic. That made me realize that I need to change somethings in my life for the better. Unless I want to start taking a pill or 2 everyday. Maybe even giving myself insulin shots. I can not even imagine having to do that to myself. This led me to want to know what I could do in my life to beat diabetes. It is fight that I have to win, for myself and my family.
Having type diabetes has not ended my life. You have to take on the challenge also, if you have been diagnosed. Do not let the disease run you, you run it. It is all about taking control of your life back from the food. Nope you do not need to live by restrictions or cutting out food. Its all about how much and how often.
