What does a chiropractor treat?

Updated on September 17, 2013

What is is all about? YOU

What does a chiropractor treat?

The short answer is YOU.

A lot of people when they think of the chiropractor think of backs. It is true chiropractors are effective for the treatment of low back pain.  However chiropractors do not treat backs, they treat you, the person who has the back pain.

Same with neck pain or headaches. Again research shows that chiropractors are effective in helping to relieve neck pain and headaches. Again the chiropractor is not treating the painful neck or headache but the person who has these symptoms.

Do you have low back pain because there is a shortage of pain killers? Do you have a headache or migraine because there is a shortage of headache tablets? Do you have a cold because there is a shortage of cold and cough medicine?

I would tend to think not.  You have these ailments because there is something within you that is not working to its full potential.

At your full potential you would probably be able to pick the baby up without your back hurting.  At your full potential you would probably be able to cope with your daily stressful, busy life without a headache or aching shoulders.  At your full potential you should be able to withstand the coughs and colds that go around the office or the kids bring home from school.

What is it that controls your body, the millions of cells that function without your conscious effort? It is your nervous system which runs starting at your brain, through your spinal cord and nerves to every cell of your body.

Chiropractors are specially trained to detect the interference to your nervous system, to correct these misalignments and allow your body to work to its full potential

Are you reaching your full potential? Are your aches and pains telling you that your body is not adapting well to the stresses and strains of life? Why not see if a chiropractor can help you
