What is Cordyceps?

Many times the question of what cordyceps actually is has arisen. It is a question that is actually surprising easy to answer, but something that when you know it will be of great benefit, not only to your mind but to your health as well.

Cordyceps is actually a member of the mushroom family, which comprises of many, many different species. There are many mushrooms out there, and they all have their own unique attributes; some can be cooked, eaten and served (some are even eaten in fine restaurants), some are used as decoration, and some are known, by both humans and wild animals alike, to be extremely dangerous and poisonous. However, by far the most common attribute of mushrooms is the fact that they are renowned for their medicinal qualities, and this is what cordyceps is best known for too – it’s amazing medicinal properties.

Cordyceps was discovered a vast number of years ago, stretching back to almost ancient times. It dates back extremely long, and has been used in a medicinal way since before many modern medicines were even dreamt of. It has continued to be used, and is still used frequently all over the world since it’s discovery all those years ago. Of course, if it had absolutely no qualities then it would have been discarded and dismissed many years ago, but the fact that it has been around so long and has such positive reviews speaks volumes about the many benefits it provides.

It is often used as a dietary supplement. Many people all over the world, whether they are from eastern civilizations or western, whether they are Christian or Muslims, all have one thing in common. This is the fact that their diet is often poor, and lacking in nutrients which are essential to prolonging life and increasing the quality of it too. Cordyceps helps here by providing some essential nutrients and health benefits to people who, without the help of cordyceps, would have previously been unable to reap any of it’s benefits, simply due to their diets not being good enough. Other than being used as a dietary supplement, it is widely known throughout the entire globe as an effective natural remedy.

Many natural remedies are often ineffective, weak, or their benefits are more often than not very questionable as to whether they work or not. This is, fortunately, not the case with cordyceps at all. They provide very fast, noticeable benefits, and they are not a ‘flash in the pan’ natural remedy either; for centuries they have been revered as a mushroom which actually does something and provides brilliant benefits, and it is only recently western civilization has started to notice the multitude of benefits it provides.

Cordyceps Benefits

Cordyceps benefits A lot of people ask me and my team, what are the actual benefits of cordyceps? Are there actually any benefits at all, are there health benefits, or is it just a load of new-age garbage that you are telling me. Well, these questions are answered below.

Cordyceps isn’t something new at all. In fact, they are one of the world’s oldest known remedies to mankind itself, with only a few other medicines existing that have been around longer. So, for anyone claiming this is a new, recent scam finds their argument totally invalid and instantly dismissed.

Cordyceps provide a huge range of health benefits, from anti-aging qualities to helping out the immune system. In Asia, cordyceps is commonly used in day to day living, so if this is the first time you are hearing about cordyceps themselves and you are from America or Europe, then you are in groundbreaking territory for the region.

The first benefit that cordyceps provide, and one of literally dozens of benefits, is one that we mentioned earlier –anti-aging. It is quite possible best known for these qualities, as reducing the effects of aging are one of the primary reasons it was mass produced and sold. Many women spend fortunes on expensive cream which claims to provide anti-aging qualities, creams which often either don’t work or do very little at all, but which are mass produced and sold for a fortune. Cordyceps knocks these out of the park, being both effective and affordable.

The next major benefits of cordyceps, are the fact that they increase both endurance and stamina. Ever ran for the bus, but felt incredibly out of breath when you reached it? Or have you ever been feeling tired after only half a day’s work? How about feeling tired and sluggish midway through sex? Well, cordyceps provides a solution to all of these problems too, by increasing the endurance and stamina of people who take it? How does it do this you ask? While research is still being performed, it is thought to just be in the genetic makeup of the mushroom itself, making it something of a wonder medicine.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly to many people who suffer from various ailments and illnesses, is the fact that it boosts and supports the immune system in a major, major way. Many people struggle to fight of coughs, colds and flu, due to perhaps slightly weaker than usual immune systems, but after a course of cordyceps, there is no longer this problem. It both treats and goes a long way in helping to get rid of a vast number of various ailments, and this may be why it is so popular all over the world.

These are just a few of the dozens of amazing benefits that cordyceps provide.

Cordyceps Side Effects

Cordyceps side effects with many medicines throughout the world, natural and produced, mushrooms and pills, there are possible side effects than can occur. These often vary from person to person, and the range and severity of effects vary too, so discussed below are the possible side effects arising from cordyceps.

Firstly, and most importantly and possible perhaps great news for cordyceps and its side effects, is the fact that, well, to be honest, there are very few, when compared with many other drugs and medicines around the world. Indeed, the range of cordyceps side effects is so small that contained within this article is practically a complete coverage of all the side effects. However, it is best to bear in mind that these may not apply for everybody, as everybody is different, and what happens for one person may not necessarily happen for another.

So, the first possible cordyceps side effect is that there is actually a chemical contained within cordyceps that is a natural blood thinner. I myself am not an expert on health related ailments, but if you are on medication then a blood thinner may cause you some harm. This could be that you are already on blood thinning medication, or that you need your blood to be thicker, so in the case of either of these circumstances arising, be sure to either disregard cordyceps or most definitely consult your doctor, as it may be best to wait until these ailments have passed before taking them yourself.

The second major side effects that you get with cordyceps is the fact that if you have an autoimmune disease, such as multiple sclerosis, then you should actually completely avoid cordyceps, as it can aggravate the immune system terrible and make your condition much worse. Remember, this is only a problem if you have an autoimmune disease, as in regular health people it won’t be a problem. So remember, if you do suffer from any problems such as these, then taking cordyceps is most definitely not advised, as it can cause major problems.

All in all, there really are not many known side effects of cordyceps aside from the few listed above. It is generally considered to be very good overall for the body and health, however, there is something to bear in mind. As stated earlier, everyone is different, so just because one person had no side effects doesn’t mean you potentially won’t too. The thing is, this isn’t just true for cordyceps alone, but this goes for all medicines alike, even if they have been prescribed. Be sure to consult your doctor and do your research before taking anything you are unfamiliar with, and only then can you reap the benefits.
