Whispers in the Wind: Making Positive Energy a Real Part of Your Life
After the Storm, Beauty often Reigns...
Take time each day for YOU. Just for you...steal away for a little bit to shed the stress of the day and add some positive energy to your plate instead of another stressor. Go for a walk, play the piano, dance in the kitchen, whatever..make it work for you.
When she entered a room, a golden aura surrounded her. Into our presence an abundance of positive energy unfurled which exuded calm and assurance that all would be well. Had an Angel come into our midst?
The magnetism of her being caused anyone who got to know her to be still and feel the moment that being with her created.
She was totally engulfed in positive energy...it emanated from her each time she was near.
She was just good, kind, thoughtful, gentle. And she seemed to know what you needed better than even you knew.
The lesson I learned from meeting this extraordinary person was how powerful positive energy can be. It can breathe that new life into our souls and minds when we have crashed to the lowest levels.
Take Time to Get Lost in Music that is Good for Your Soul
With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.— Dr. Wayne Dyer
Asking for Positives
Throughout the years when a family member or me has had to be hospitalized for surgery we have requested:
That only positive energy, positive talk be said in the surgical arena.
That a prayer be said before the surgery and we too prayed for the surgeons and all who were assisting as well.
Likewise, I use positive energy to help pain to subside such as when I have a migraine and have encouraged others to do the same. I focus the energy on the area where the pain is and address the pain. I know that sounds like hokey. But it works. The cells in that area get the message. Perhaps it is because I am calm and totally relaxed...I never question the reason.
Unable to Feel
When lost in the depths of despair some thirty five years ago, sucked into a whilrlwind of desolation and darkness, feeling no joy from anything not even my precious daughter that I love so was horrifying and beyond my mind's capacity to understand. How could I not feel anything for anyone or anything?
I was paralyzed emotionally I could go through the motions of living but there was not one shred of positive life force running through my veins that I could detect. I could not feel God any longer. That was probably one of my scariest moments. When I could no longer feel His presence. I know now He was there but I could not find Him in the cave I had fallen into...scared and alone, although I was not really alone, my life was a void.
To describe how I felt leaves me shaken and abysmal
After reaching this low point, there was nowhere to go except to end my life or to find that still small voice, that shred of positive life force that was still within me, and crawl out of that haunting horrid place in which I found myself.

Finding the Positive
To point to the place or time when and where I found the positive energy that plays such a pivotal role in my life is not something I can do. I can only say that I found it once again and it carries me along.
Positive energy for me manifests itself to me through my own thoughts and through the thoughts and actions of others. And I have found a number of ways to bring that energy into my life.
Some portion of every day, probably much more even than I am aware, is spent focusing on positive energy..positive outlook, positive results.
My life is just like the life of anyone else. Stuff comes. Unpleasant, unwanted, even ghastly sutff comes. And then a choice comes.
Spiral down into the darkness, become enveloped in the chaos, the negative or choose to find a positive course of action, a way to turn circumstances around to make whatever it is lose its negative power and be replaced with positive energy, the life force that keeps me centered and focused.

Learn to let go and to embrace the possibilities
Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today? ~Mary Manin Morrissey
Learning to Move ON
Did I just say that we all have stuff that comes...unwanted unwelcome ghastly even ????
It does. It seems to be part of the ebb and flow of life. And life's journey is about making choices. It just is.
We can choose to wallow in the injustice of it all, scream and wail, cuss and throw things, sob and find fault with someone or something that caused this. We can. That would be one way to deal with it. And, yes, there was a time when I am certain I did at least some of those things.
And to no avail. The worst part was the crying because it always gave me red eyes and a huge headache. So I was worse off in the long run than before my episode ensued.
The obvious other choice is to take the words by Mary Morrissey in her quote and embrace the possibilities. I guess it amounts to letting go of the weight of the baggage that makes us unable to move forward.
Get over it. Move on. Let the past, be just that...it is done. You can stay wounded by something that will drag you down endlessly or you can choose to move forward, unshackled, to a new better life for yourself.

Where are YOU?
Before you can really embrace the positives, you must assess where you are. If you are in the pits, the lowest point, the "I can't do this any more' place, then you need help. You need someone who can help you find your way back. For each of us that is a different person and a different way.
Some of us think we can handle it on our own. We sure as hell don't want anyone telling us what to do or how to 'make it better.'
We may say: "My life is in the toilet and that's that."
The danger is to get lost in a maze, a haze of drugs,or to find yourself at the bottom of a bottle, drowning now by that new hold on your life.
It is okay to think you can handle it on your own as long as you are willing to let someone intervene on your behalf if you obviously cannot. Allow that person then to help you find the best course of action for you.
Often when you have reached your lowest low your judgment is clouded and decision making ability sucks. Yep, it just sucks. So having a trusted friend or family member there to catch you when you fall is a good thing. You may kicking and screaming as they begin to help but it will be life changing if you give yourself over to overcoming your demons. (Spoken from experience.)
You might want to agree on the person of choice at some point in conversation with them when everything is just dandy and no sign of impending doom awaits. It sometimes just creeps up so slowly that you are unable to recognize it is happening and then, wham!!!, you are hit with it. That is when you may need help. Discuss with your friend what kind of help you would consider before something ever happens.
And the good news is, it may never happen to you.
"Where does positive energy fit into all of this talk about me being 'lost'?" you may ask.

How Positive Energy Fits...
It is like this
The answer to most questions about our lives is positive thinking which yields positive energy. I am going out on a limb here by saying that. I know there are many who would challenge that statement...and that is okay. We all have our own take on the world.
We all have real life issues: illness, mortgages, car payments, uitility payments, food and clothing expenses, child care and on and on. It is difficult to think positively when there are more bills coming in than there is money to cover it all. What is almost equally as frustrating is to work hard, even after retirement, and still have just enough to cover expenses rather than enough to travel the world as you had once hoped
So how can anyone think positive thoughts when all of this is weighing on our shoulders?

That is right.
Create two columns on Word or whatever you use, or, grab a sheet of paper and : Make a list of ALL that you have to be thankful and at the top of that list put a plus sign or write POSITIVES.
And we know that column two will be the list of NEGATIVES.
Try to be as candid as you can in both columns. No one ever has to see this but you.
Turn over the page or go to a new page on your computer and begin to devise a plan as to how to turn around the NEGATIVES.
This will be an ongoing process and do not be overzealous so that you set yourself up for defeat.
Often one of our biggest issues is spending more than we should and then facing the consequences of such spending.
If money is your biggie in the negative column, take a close look at all of your spending....dining out, shopping, car washes, coffee at your favorite coffee spot. You know. All of the expenses that can eat away at a well planned budget.
Addressing spending could be one way to move money issues into a positive column one area of spending at a time.
Money may not be what consumes your negative column. It may be personal relationships or any one of a million other things. But address it in the same way. Write down what you perceive to be the problems and then work out a way to solve them It is not simple.
Sometimes the solutions we need are not the ones we want. O, how well I know that.
Over the past four years, I have had to make decisions that were not ones I wanted to make at all. Out of necessity, I had to make them And now that I am comfortable with the way things are I have moved those changes that occurred into the positive column because they have turned out well.
Do I have more than enough money to spend? No, but I have enough to manage and then some. So that in my mind is a definite plus.
Do I have a whole new set of friends and interactions with others? I do and that definitely makes the pluses spin around me.
And I still have my tried and true friends but just not as close geographically so I do not get to see them as often.
Many other unexpected positives come out of change that comes because it must...not because we want it to at the time.

There have been many times in my lifetime that I have described myself as Pollyanna. And that happened after I crashed and burned some 30+ years ago.
I still make be a little bit of a Pollyanna...I tend to see the glass half full and rose-colored glasses are often found in my space. But I am also a realist.
I know that stuff will come that will go into the negative column as I continue my journey.
If it stays there, shame on me. I am empowered by a sense that I can direct positive energy in my life to work for the good to occur. It really is about choosing to do so.
