At age 16 I was a volunteer at a hospital bacteriology lab. I became a chemist for U.S. government. Then I studied health & related fields.

Vegan Steve Jobs Dies of Pancreatic Cancer

Many people wonder why Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer since a vegan diet or plant-based diet is supposed to protect one from cancer. Did ex-President Bill Clinton and ex-Vice President Al Gore make a mistake when they switched to a plant-based diet?

Pancreatic cancer is abbreviated as PC so Steve Jobs died of PC. The Mac competes with the PC for sales as the 2 types of computers.

This is not a rule but vegans or a vegan diet usually refers to people that are trying to protect animals whereas a plant-based diet tends to be for people on this diet for their own health. Steve Jobs may have been on a vegan diet since it would make his body less toxic so he would not need to bathe.

He apparently had a tendency to have a strong body odor before this. It may have helped but there is lots of information about how at one place that he worked, he was put on the night shift because some people complained that he smelled bad.

Note that East Asians like people from China, Korea or Japan (according to Wikipedia) have a tendency to not have body odor. This is due to different biological factors like less apocrine sweat glands and also their earwax is solid instead of liquid.

The video below is by Michael Greger M.D. He testified for Oprah Winfrey when she was sued by the meat industry. She won that case. Besides telling how a plant-based or vegan diet helps protect one against cardiovascular problems like heart attacks and strokes, he also told about a study done with cancer.

In this study they had cancer growing in a Petri dish (see picture above). They took blood from many people with a normal American diet and added it to the dish. Sometimes this is called SAD (standard American diet). They learned that this normal blood suppressed cancer. Of course if it did not then everyone would have cancer. In every person cancer is beginning to grow but usually it is stopped before it gets very far.

They did this with the blood of people with different diets like a vegetarian diet. They found that this suppressed cancer even more than the normal American Diet. When they tested the blood of vegans (this sounds like an ingredient in a witches' brew) they found that it suppressed cancer 8 times better than the blood from people with a normal diet. You can see the 3 minute video about this here called Ex Vivo Cancer Proliferation Bioassay. It shows the titles of the studies so you can look them up.

One of them is PubMed that is part of the U.S. National Library of Medicine. Intensive lifestyle changes may affect the progression of prostate cancer says:

The growth of LNCaP prostate cancer cells (American Type Culture Collection, Manassas, Virginia) was inhibited almost 8 times more by serum from the experimental than from the control group (70% vs 9%, p <0.001).

Please note that plant foods have thousands of phytochemicals that are like plant medicines that help people. For example sulforaphane in broccoli, curcumin in the spice turmeric and lycopene in tomatoes prevent and fight cancer. I have an article called Great Foods That Fight Cancer. In that article it has a link to a webinar from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) about curcumin having the ability to prevent cancer. There are thousands of phytochemicals and over 900 of them have been identified

Green tea has a lot of kaempferol in it (another phytochemical). To use ebonics, who be that? I can also speak Australian and Canadian. Here is PubMed (part of the U.S. National Library of Medicine). A review of the dietary flavonoid, kaempferol on human health and cancer chemoprevention says:

Kaempferol is a polyphenol antioxidant found in fruits and vegetables.

Significantly, kaempferol inhibits cancer cell growth and angiogenesis and induces cancer cell apoptosis, but on the other hand, kaempferol appears to preserve normal cell viability, in some cases exerting a protective effect.

Angiogenesisis the physiological process through which new blood vessels form from pre-existing vessels. Apoptosis is the process of programmed cell death (PCD) that may occur in multicellular organisms.

Johns Hopkins Medicine says Cancer Protection Compound Abundant in Broccoli Sprouts. It says:

JOHNS HOPKINS SCIENTISTS have found a new and highly concentrated source of sulforaphane, a compound they identified in 1992 that helps mobilize the body's natural cancer-fighting resources and reduces risk of developing cancer.

Isothiocyanates in cabbage family vegetables fight cancer. Resveratrol (in grapes and peanuts) shows a dramatic tendency to decrease risk of many types of cancer. John McDougall M.D. says:

Jobs became a vegetarian in his freshman year at Reed College in Portland, Oregon.(36) He would at times eat only fruit, and considered himself a fruitarian.(63, 68, 83) He was a lifelong strict vegan (no animal foods), except for occasional lapses.(91, 155, 260, 458, 527, 528).

“Powell (Jobs’ wife) had been a vegan when they were first married, but after her husband’s operation she began to diversify their family diet with fish and other proteins.”(477) Jobs eventually did succumb to these intense demands and ate seafood and eggs.(527,528)

New York Daily News has an article called Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson reveals his obsession with veganism, carrot and apple fasts. It says:

A rebellious and fairly abrasive young man, Jobs was reportedly significantly affected by the book "Diet for a Small Planet" which he read during his college years.

"That's when I pretty much swore off meat for good," Jobs said, according to Entertainment Weekly's review on the book.

The book prompted him to embrace extreme carrot and apple fasts, biographer Walter Isaacson reveals, and to include a large amount of steamed or grilled broccoli and asparagus in his diet.

So we still have the question of why Steve Jobs died from pancreatic cancer. A famous vegan medical doctor, John McDougall M.D. explains this in great detail on a video called Why Did Steve Jobs Die. You can watch this 42 minute video if you have the time. By knowing the size of a tumor they can roughly estimate the time that it started growing. The above webpage says:

Contrary to popular opinion Steve Jobs’ pancreatic cancer began in his late teens or early twenties from exposure to toxins when he worked in Silicon Valley. His vegan diet likely slowed the cancer. He should have no regrets about delaying his surgery. He was greatly harmed by well intentioned medical doctors.

I like to verify things so I looked up the above reference to him working in a transistor factory in Silicon Valley. This is talked about on the video. It also discuses that at that time they were not that aware of the ability of these different metals or toxins to cause cancer so there was little protection against them whereas now there is a lot more protection. The video tells about one specific toxin that is now known to cause pancreatic cancer.

It was not easy verifying this information since it was not on Wikipedia which is usually very thorough. If you look at the second picture above, it links the Steven Paul Jobs website. This website had what I was looking for and many other interesting things. This webpage says:

While he [Steve Jobs before 1972] was in high school, he built electronic devices. Once, he wanted for his projects some rare parts made by Hewlett-Packard; he wrote to William Hewlett, cofounder of Hewlett-Packard, and asked for the parts to be sent to him. Hewlett responded by giving Jobs a summer job in a Hewlett-Packard factory. Wozniak [Steve Wozniak cofounded Apple with Steve Jobs] already worked there as an up-and-coming engineer.

Vitamin D

According to the leading vitamin D expert in the U.S., Michael Holick Ph.D., M.D., who is a professor of medicine, physiology and biophysics at Boston University Medical School, there is a vitamin D deficiency pandemic (widespread epidemic) going on. Most people in the U.S. do not get enough vitamin D that is actually a neurosteroid hormone due to lack of sunlight.

One of the many functions of vitamin D is to help the body cleanse itself of dangerous toxins. This is part of the reason that it prevents cancer. According to the premier endocrinologist of California, Joe Prendercast M.D., enough vitamin D increases immune system strength 3 to 5 times. For more on this see Are Autism and Cancer Caused by a Vitamin D Deficiency.

Other Interesting Things

Other interesting things on this article include that Steve Jobs went to India with some friends in search of enlightenment. But it was disappointing finding a guru that was a fake. He also started selling blue boxes to make long distance phone calls without paying for them but stopped when the police almost caught him. Some of these details may not be on the above webpage since I was looking at different websites to get more information.

Note that a few years before he left to go to India, an Indian guru or teacher of meditation left India and came to America and has lived here since. His name is Prem Rawat and when he left India, he had many hundreds of thousands of students there. He is talked about on the end of my article called Is the Key to Happiness Being in the Present Moment.

Steve Jobs was a college drop-out like some other billionaires like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison and Michael Dell. The video of Steve Jobs below is definitely worth watching. He says on it "Sometimes life is going to hit you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith." It is considered one of the best commencement speeches given by anyone.

Here we see Steve Jobs delivering his commencement speech to the graduates of Stanford University in 2005. In it he talks about getting fired from Apple in 1985

jewelstar, I was trying to point out that while Steve Jobs left America and went to India to find peace, Prem Rawat had already come to America to help those in search of peace, like Steve Jobs. That is kindness!

Because of that, even though I never went to India, I was able to find what I was looking for in the meditation that Prem Rawat teaches called Self-Knowledge. The article that follows the above on Prem Rawat is called Is the Key to Happiness Being in the Present Moment.

It talks about how Eckhart Tolle came into an experience of peace by accident from being depressed. That article has a video of Prem Rawat talking and a music video with him in it. So you can go there and tell me what you think of that article.

You mentioned that Jobs had a guru he found to be a fake. In the next paragraph you mention Prem Rawat. It leaves one wondering and I want the record to be straight. I have known Prem Rawat since 1972. He is a spiritual teacher who gave me a Knowledge that changed my life forever more. Though there are those who did not have the results that I did, for whatever reason, I have personally found, along with about a million others, that his teachings rang true. To understand what Prem Rawat is about, please take a look at the short video that is located at: http://www.tprf.org

Just goes to show that most of the scaremongering rubbish pumped out by the waistline police is utter balderdash.

Seems like cancer probably has more to do with stress than anything else.
