Inspirational Short Stories that Have Helped Me Endure Storms in Life

Updated on June 1, 2014

The Motivational and Inspirational Short Stories that Inspired Me to Go On..,

“Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray.”~

A great motivational adversity saying about weathering storms in life by Lord Byron quotes

How many of you have faced with adversity in your life?

Have you been faced with hard economic times, sickness, death, or other trials in your life?

How well were you able to cope with the challenges that you were facing at the time?

How well were you able to the weather the storm in life that you were in?

Did anyone ever share motivational stories with you that inspired you to weather on through the personal storms even though the times were rough and wearisome?

A bend in the road is not the end of the road... unless you fail to make the turn. ~Motivational words of encouragement by Author Unknown

The Inspirational Short Story of the Tree, Who Becomes Stronger Through Life's Storms.

A story was told me several years ago when I was going through a trial in my own personal life. The story was about a very young tree.

The young tree faced many storms through its young life. The powerful winds, torrential rains, famine, ice, and snow would lie across its branches.

At times the young tree questioned its maker asking,"Why have you let so many storms come into my life?"

His maker whispered, "You will understand one day, stand firm, you will make it through the storms of life." "The challenges will pass, keep this in mind."

The tree questioned his master, "If I go through one more winter the snow will surely break my branches if I face any more powerful wind I will surely be uprooted and moved away."

His maker whispered, "Stand strong, dig your roots deep into the soil, you will understand someday."

Somehow the young tree kept the positive thoughts in his mind and managed to survive and make it through even the toughest of storms.

Somehow, even in the toughest of times, when the things it went through should have broken it down, it found a way to stand firm even through the worst of storms.

As a young tree grew taller, stronger, and matured the tree realized the storms of life had made it stronger.

Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass... It's about learning how to dance in the rain.

- Motivational Quote by Vivian Greene

The Inspiring Short Story of the Horse Who Fell In a Hole

There once was a horse who was walking through the woods one dark night. The horse was somewhat upset that he had to walk home so late, and the darkness made him a little down.

All of a sudden, out of nowhere it seemed, the horse fell into a deep dark hole.

The horse screamed out, "Help!" "It is so dark down here, and I can't get out."

No one answered the horse back.

The horse screamed out once more, "Help, someone, please!" "I have fallen down into the deep, dark, pit, and I cannot get out.

Still no one answers the horse.

The horse then starts to panic.

He thinks to himself,'I am never going to get out of the hole.'

The horse starts to fight against the darkness. He starts to kick and scream!

"Help me!"

The dirt is flying everywhere. He kicks and screams more and more!

Before the horse realizes it, he is staring at the top of the hole. The horse dug himself out of the predicament he was in. He never ever gave up!

Inspirational Short Story a Personal Note from Mike Hazelwood

When the Inspirational Short Story of the Tree, Who Becomes Stronger Through Life's Storms was originally told to me, I was a junior in high school.

One of the greatest challenges that I have faced in my life was learning to walk again after cutting my left great toe off with a lawn mower.

When you are going through the storms in life you really don't why this is happening to you.

I asked myself, 'Why is this happening to me?'

I often would feel sorry for myself while lying in a hospital bed That is when someone shared the above story with me.

After many weeks of rehabilitation, I did learn to walk again. I believe this challenge in my life did make me stronger in the long run.

I do hope these stories that I have shared will inspire you, live in you, and help you if you are being faced with the many challenges in life that we go thru.

Do You Know Someone Who is Going Through a Storm in Life...,

If you know someone who is facing a challenge in their life, please feel free to share these inspirational short stories with them too.

Stand strong in the toughest of times, you will make it through and will become even stronger. You will come out of the storm too.

Did the storms in your life make you bitter or better?

@Tenkay, I too have learned this fact from my experiences in life. When we try to run from our problems, we turn around to see each one staring back at us. Thank you sharing your own story and experiences.

Thank you for sharing your story... at this point in my life I realized that the inner strength of a human being is shaped by the past adversities faced head-on by this person.

Running away from problems and fears was an option when I was younger but with age and wisdom I realized that facing them was my only way to survive.

Thank you so much for stopping by James. Our ability to power on even through the pain can either make us or break us for sure. Attitude is truly a must when making it through the adversities in life.

Excellent hub & awesome presentation. I enjoyed the inspirational story about the horse who fell into a hole. Anyone who has been born into this world knows that adversity is part of the journey. I live by the motto that pain is inevitable and misery is optional. Our attitude plays a very important role when adversity comes to visit. This hub is a vote up. Thank you for posting such a motivating and uplifting hub.
