You See Hearts When You Use Yours
Surnames and avatars talk about us. We try to send a hidden message, or those that are extroverts a clear one. Lastheart is exactly about what I have found in my life and I cannot stay with something that is valuable...I have to share it, that is why I write my expressions from my six senses, that is why I am the way I am because I see hearts when I use mine. Somebody wrote "Heyyyy!!! you are giving tooo muuuuuch,Hold back a little for yourself." This is a true oxymoron. We need to walk seeking wisdom in order to understand simplicities.
"Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons."
You will find the quoted verse in the Bible in the book of Deuteronomy Chapter 4. It was quoted by Moses as he encouraged the people of Israel before they entered the Land which the Lord, the God of our fathers, gave them. This quote is also for us; we are the sons and grandsons...and we are to pass it on. The meaning is very valuable because it is the key of being and parenting.
When we encounter the word 'heart', many things will march through our mind. Our heart is that muscular organ about a fist size. It is located to the left and behind the breastbone. It pumps blood through the networks of arteries and veins called the cardiovascular system.
Our heart needs so much care because in it lies our life. Our physical and spiritual life is right there. Many heart conditions have been discovered and treated. There are other heart conditions that cannot be treated, but while there is life there is hope!
One thing I do know is that by living in love you will be able to help your heart be more healthy. The heart has more functions than the anatomical one provides.
Give heed to yourself
How can we consider ourselves, and not be selfish? There is a big difference because someone that is selfish cares only about themselves and doesn't consider others. That is when we start seeing hearts. It is within the simplicity of:
- Sleeping the necessary
- Eating the necessary
- Working the necessary
- Having the necessary fun
When we have our basic needs fulfilled and we are responsible for ourselves, then we are able to apply:
"Love your neighbor as yourself."
Keep your soul diligently
It has not been revealed the location of our soul, but we do know that we have a soul. Our emotions, desires, decisions, and life style reveals what is happening to our soul. We need to protect our souls from being harmed, or corrupted. Hebrews 4:12 help us by quoting:
"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
The Bible has all the answers to our problems. God left us His words by inspiring others, and He still reveals His Holy purposes...to those that are willing to listen... God also speaks to our hearts. What we think and do marks our souls.
Let us be marked by a spiritual heart!
Do not forget the things which your eyes have seen
The life we are living has many blessings, but we forget about them. We are at many times ungrateful. Our heart hardens by our own selfishness.
When we stop being self centered we may see what we have. It is the moment to know that we probably don't even deserve such blessings. God is merciful and by His divine compassion He gives us; it will not always be what we want, but sure enough what is good for all.
Search, meditate, analyze and observe your past, present and where you are heading in the future.
Never forget; be grateful !!!
Wherever you were, are, or go
Heart Island, Tavarua Island
They do not depart from your heart all the days of your life
We are definitely marked by life. We need to be pruned in order to grow. We need to get rid of weeds in our hearts in order to refresh it. Love does not come from every heart, but we could seek it.
"The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith."
1 Timothy 1:5
Don't let go from the 'good stuff', we as individuals know how our heart is. In James 4:8 you will find that as we search God, He will find us, but we need to do and change attitudes in order to have His Holy presence: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
Life exposes us to many seasons. We live:
- protected and rejected
- in company, and alone
- through richness and poorness
- Illness and health
- in love and hatefulness
Seasons shouldn't change our motive...our goal...our aim which is love.
Make them known to your sons and your grandsons
Marcus Tullius Cicero defined so well what history is about. He said:"History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time; it illuminates reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life, and brings us tidings of antiquity." This is what we need to let know to our sons and grandsons.
The Word of God is sweet and wise...why try to get wisdom or counseling in another place. 2 Timothy 2:22 shows us how to encourage our youngsters.
"Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart."
Let our children see our hearts by our actions of love. They will reflect who we really are.
Hearts are reflected in actions
Appearance vs. heart
The Lord told Samuel not to look on appearance or on height of stature, as he was going to anoint the king of Israel. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.
Let's look after the heart of each others. Let's be transparent, for our heart is seen.
If you have a good heart, pure and seeking righteousness, believe me, love will surround you. Have you heard that what you reap is what you sow...
...well what you desire is what you trap.
Oh yes, your heart will blossom!!! You will see it grow, expand, and you will receive the benefit of a flourishing heart:
Then we will start seeing hearts in all, because we gain that wonderful sight. We will honor the heart of an elder. We will protect the heart of child in his laughter. We will embrace the crying heart of a widow. We will reach the heart of the imprisoned....
Oh, how many hearts out there wanting to be warmed with ours!
The Parable of the Good Samaritan
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind,..."
This is the first part of the verse I quoted for "give heed to yourself". I invite you to read the Parable of the good Samaritan where the is found for more understanding and blessings! You will start seeing hearts, only when you start using your own heart.
Real love from a true heart is such a splendid thing!
