Aconitum Napellus is a Great Homeopathic Remedy

Aconitum Napellus is the best of all natural remedies for anxiety (panic) attacks and sudden onsets of chills or fevers. It is one of the essential homeopathic remedies and it is included in every first aid homeopathy kit. The remedy (usually pellets) is made from the plant of the same name, also known as Monk's hood, Monk's blood or Wolf's bane.

As a parent I found this remedy precious when my children were younger but I still have it in my first aid homeopathy kit for other indications you can read about below.

ACONITUM NAPELLUS IS BEST FOR:

sudden onset of chill, fever or flu

shock or trauma (taking part or witnessing a traffic accident, earthquake...)

great fear (of death, of surgeries, of going to dentist, of flying...)

anxiety attacks

Warning About Homeopathic Remedies!

Using homeopathic remedies does not mean using the very compound in the form that it's found in nature as they are all toxic. In order to become remedies, plants and minerals are treated in a specific way and then made in different potencies (dilutions) and forms (pellets, liquids, ointments).

Follow the instructions on the label and I also suggest you find a good family homeopath to have on call 24/7 in case you're not sure what to do in certain emergency situations.

Sudden is the Keyword Here

Many parents have experienced that frighting moment of their child becoming ill so suddenly that it seemed unreal. Imagine a child playing and looking perfectly fine and then suddenly getting fever and starting showing a great restlessness. Now add a great thirst, emotional distress and sensitivity to touching of any kind and you have a typical Aconite patient. This often affects adults too.

When it comes to panic attacks and sudden great fears or states of shock the best example is an earthquake i.e. people dealing with it's horror. Such shock obviously includes a great fear of dying and/or losing the loved ones but in addition to that the typical Aconitum patient takes no action of any kind. In stead of trying to solve the problem so to speak, such person goes completely numb. That's why afterwards in most cases such patients feel as if it was all just a bad dream.

@Swisstoons That is so good to hear. Even better, you had no more symptoms later. I thank you for sharing your experience here so that other might benefit in case they're sceptical.

An excellent lens about an important homeopathic remedy! Many years ago, I was subject to periodic anxiety attacks. Some were mild, but others would make me wonder if I was losing my mind. Among these was a type which would begin with the odd feeling that what had just happened was like a dream. When I got interested in homeopathy a few years later, I came across this symptom in Boerike's Materia Medica: "feels as if what had just been done was a dream." But because I wasn't experiencing the symptom at that moment, I did nothing. A few months later, a cartoon editor at one of the magazines called with some questions and a request. As soon as I picked up the phone, I began to get that crazy dream feeling. While talking to him, I suddenly remembered that passage from the Materia Medica, got the book and began flipping through the pages (while still on the phone). There was the symptom... under Aconitum! I retrieved the homeopathic first aid kit I'd bought years earlier, found the Aconitum 6x, popped four pellets under my tongue...and within about 15 seconds, the dreamlike feeling dissolved. When the call with the editor ended, I put the Aconitum in a special place where it could be quickly found whenever the symptom returned. But the symptom never really has returned. Five or six years later, I thought I was beginning to get a sense of that "dreamlike" feeling, quickly took 4 pellets...and it never materialized. That was over twenty years ago. I've had no relapses. I still keep my bottle of Aconitum in the cupboard where I can find it quickly...but I haven't needed it! A great remedy!
