Adorable Baby Gender Reveal Party Ideas!

Updated on June 2, 2014

He Or She Which Will It Be?

Gender reveal parties have been gaining in popularity over the past several months. Essentially it is a party or keepsake that allows your friends and family to join you and share in the excitement of figuring out if you are having a sweet little girl, or a handsome little man. I find the whole gender reveal absolutely adorable, and I plan on having a party when I find out the sex of my baby.

I believe that celebrating throughout pregnancy is much needed! And revealing whether you are having a boy or girl is a great reason to. I think that it is all the better if the mommy and daddy don't know the sex either and are surprised on the party day. I wanted to share some tips and tricks as to how to reveal your babies' gender in a truly magical way.

Surprising Mommy And Daddy!

You might think it would be difficult to plan a party about the sex of the baby when you don't even know what it is. Luckily there are a whole bunch of great ideas where the parents can be surprised at the party as well as all of their guests.

To start most doctors if you ask will place the gender on a piece of paper in an envelope instead of telling you. That way you are able to take said envelope to a bakery, balloon store, or give it to a friend to organize the reveal centerpiece. There are a variety of games and activities to get your guests excited about the reveal and help build the anticipation!

The Big Reveal!

There are so many ways to reveal whether you are having a boy or a girl. All of which are absolutely adorable and will be remembered by all for years to come.

Cake

Looking around online you will find a huge selection of gender reveal cakes that will take your breath away. The key to the gender reveal cake is taking the envelope with the baby's gender to the bakery and letting them know that you are looking for a gender reveal cake. They will then work to fill the cake with colored frosting or actually go as far as dyeing the cake itself!

There are so many adorable decorations and sayings you can choose from for your cake! I will go on to mention them below. When you pick up your cake you wont be able to see if it is a boy or girl and then later at your party when you cut into it you will get the sweetest little surprise!

Balloons!

One of the cutest ideas I have seen, and a great photo opportunity is when you allow a company or a close family member to place either blue, or pink balloons into a large box. Usually couples decorate it with a cute saying and wrapping paper so it looks cute. When the time comes the parents go to open the top of the box to release the balloons, announcing to the world what sex they are expecting!

Glitter Eggs!

Another sweet idea that I have found is filling empty eggs with either pink or blue glitter and letting all of your guests break them open, (lets be real SMASH THEM!) to release the glitter!

Emptying eggs is pretty easy, just poke a hole at both ends and blow at one end to force the egg out. I would let them sit and dry for 48 hours before filling with glitter.

Pinata!

Have a friend/family member/stranger fill a pinata with candy, either pink or blue depending on the sex of the baby. Let all of your guests take a swing!

Cake/Invitation Sayings!
