Suboxone is a combination drug containing buprenorphine and naloxone. The time for this drug to be considered completely eliminated from the body is based on the elimination half-life of the drug(s). For all drugs, it takes approximately 5 half-lives for complete elimination. According to the manufacturer of Suboxone, buprenorphine has an elimination half-life of 24-42 hours and naloxone has an elimination half-life of 2-12 hours. For Suboxone to be completely eliminated from the body, it would take (a maximum of) approximately 210 hours (42 x 5) or 8.75 days following the last dose.
