Will you please recommend some fun, motivating exercises?
I'm trying to come up with a new routine to keep me motivated. I have to exercise regularly, now, or else I experience extremely pain in my body.
Not sure if you will like this or not. But I rock out to the rhythm and blues creating exercises to the best of the music. There are many stretch and muscle toning exercises that you can use. Music seems to motivate me into sticking with it and enjoying what I do. If you like music, this would be a good way to have some motivating exercises. It is more enjoyable with your partner. We dance together using the 50 and 60's moves. Try it.
Have you got a Nintendo Wii? There are many games that you can buy that have lots of routines for you to follow- so you don't get bored. It tracks your progress too, and its to music.
If you can't afford the gym or keep fit classes, then just do simple exercises like dance around the room to music, buy a cheap exercise DVD and invite a friend around to join in, so you can motivate each other. Or go for a walk/jog.
Zumba!!! I love this. It is an infusion of Latin dance and cardio moves to really get your heart pumping. I did it after having my second baby and made it back to my per-pregnancy weight in two and half months. It doesn't even feel like exercise. It feels like your at the club dancing. Try it out.
I prefer hiking and rock climbing. For me it combines a love and a need. I know I need to exercise, and I love nature so therefore it's easier for me to focus on the love of the outdoors and forget that I'm doing something healthy.
I enjoy yoga and pilates the most out of everything else I do! If you do pilates correctly it even gets your heart pumping so you get cardio and stretching. It builds muscle and keeps you extremely toned. Plus I sometimes have fun with it by ditching the vidoes (since I know the basic moves anyways) and do it outside or to music. I can even make the moves faster and turn it into a dance. Have fun with it and it is great for you!! I also switch up that simple routine by doing sports and other fun random things.
Learn some yoga preferably from a class. If it is difficult learn watching TV or through online yoga courses. Then practise it at home regularly. If you feel comfortable leave the TV on and continue your exercises. I do my yoga exercises like this regularly and enjoy doing it. Whenever I need to have fun I watch TV, and other times I will concentrate on the yoga only.
I have found a crazy fun exercise program (although I find ways to NOT do it, I LOVE it when I do.) Yoga Booty Ballet...yes it combines, Yoga, Silly dancing, and some Ballet and balance moves. It's a DVD collection and used to be on those late night infomercials - as a habitual insomniac, I've seen em' all, and this was the only one that really caught my eye.
Fun, silly, and great for all levels. With sessions like "Cardio Cabaret" & "Bollywood", you can't NOT enjoy doing the workout even if you can't keep up.
You can find them at your local library or on Ebay!
Good luck!
