If the quality of sleep is good, 7 hours of beauty rest best for me.

Only you can tell because our lives are all different. Same human but we come in all shapes and sizes and with all kinds of requirements, whatever feels good for you, it's as simple as that.

    Bless.

I think eight or nine. I'd be happy to get seven now.

It depends on the night.  There are some nights when I hardly sleep at all and I feel fine in the morning.  Other nights, when I seem to get enough sleep, I feel sluggish.  I have never been a great sleeper, so I really appreciate just waking up from any amount of sleep and being able to function.

I personally only need about 5 hours per night. When I do over-sleep I feel terrible and have aches and pains and actually feel more tired.

When I maintain a regular workout schedule, I find that I sleep deeper and feel fully rested after about 6 hours. When I'm not working out and making no effort to stay physically active, I feel that no amount of sleep is enough.

Recent studies showed that no less than six hours of continuous sleep is needed by adults. Those getting less than six hours of sleep are at higher risk of heart diseases. Be well everyone.

I think six hours of undisturbed sleep will be fine.Another most important thing is that you should not think of your worries when you sleep, as if you do so you can never hope for a deep sleep.

After 10+ years of working graveyard, I'm happy when I get 5. Any less and i'm miserable. 6 is better, and I don't remember the last time I got 7.

6-7 hours works for me, no matter what time I go to bed. If I stay in bed longer,I can't sleep and start getting sore.

Everyones body clock is a little bit different but most studies show that you need about 8 hours of sleep. Children and young adults typically need more. Also your sleep rem cycle i believe is about 1.5 hours so if you MUST get a lack of sleep try not to wake up during a sleep rem. If you have waken up before from an alarm and still was able to get a decent amount of sleep yet you still feel like garbage.... it is probably because you woke up during the deep sleep part of a rem cycle.

8 hours is sufficient enough for a good nights sleep.

I can survive well on 7 hours a night.  My sleep varies from 6 to 8 hours a night.  My body will let me know if I didn't get enough sleep by the early afternoon.

Most of the health articles that I read, recommend 8hours

7 or 8, for the health
but if I have a fun fulfilling night out with my friends, I'll let myself have days once in a while where I happily deprive myself of sleep.

Over the years I have met many people who say that 5 hours is enough sleep for them. That is definitely NOT the case for me. I need my 8 hours, I would be fine with 7 but I prefer 8.

Here's a tip for you that I heard in the past. The hours of sleep that you get before midnight are better quality sleep than those you get after midnight.

So, if you are limited to a certain amount of hours of sleep, try getting most of them in before midnight.

Optimum for myself is about seven to eight hours.  I have found that it's best to go to bed nearly the same time every night and rise nearly the same every morning.  I like to wind down before bedtime by taking a shower, watching light-hearted tv and flipping through a magazine or book.  If I can awake without an alarm, I consider myself to have had adequate sleep and if I can awake feeling refreshed and ready for the day.  I know it varies for each person, but this is what works best for me.

Just like any other characteristics you are born with, the amount of sleep you need to function best may be different for you than for someone who is of the same age and gender. While you may be at your absolute best sleeping seven hours a night, someone else may clearly need nine hours to have a happy, productive life. In fact, a 2005 study confirmed the fact that sleep needs vary across populations, and the study calls for further research to identify traits within genes that may provide a "map" to explain how sleep needs differ among individuals.
