What do you do if you have a strong passion for something, and it slowly vanishes?
Don't you remember those times where you felt so pumped up by your passion that you would do it all day. But slowly the fun, excitement and lastly the passion disappears. You know that giving it up would never be an option since it has been a part of you for a long time. How do you pump up the passion again?
You can pump up the passion again the same way you would when you are trying to rekindle romance or add spice back into a relationship that's gone dull-Remember all the reasons you fell in love with it in the first place! How did it make you feel when you first discovered this passion? Don't you remember the excitement the very first time you were doing what you loved? How your adrenaline was pumping, heart pacing, up all night can't sleep or eat, because the thought of missing out on something so spectacular kept was not a option?
Remember the reason why you loved your passion. What made you decide or choose this passion? If you didn't choose it and it's just something that manifested on it's own, how have you refined your craft? How can you make it better? I also think maybe the passion disappeared because you may not be inspired enough. Do something that will get you inspired again. Try something new. If life is interfering, then take some time out and dedicate it to your passion. Set out time. Make it fun. You should be back into the full swing of things in no time!
Go look at someone else do the same thing or hear someone speak on the same topic. When you see what others are doing you will also see how skilled you have become and know you can do it better or you will see ways to improve.
I write and draw amongst being a counselor. There are many books to keep my skills at its peak as far as my career is concerned. i can always take a few classes. I can that as well with drawing and writing, but there is nothing like seeing what your colleagues are doing and making assessments of your own skills. I went back to drawing about three years ago. I thought I could warm back up and jump right in. I thought my drawing were pretty cool until I saw the illustrations of those that never stopped. I had to get back to practicing. Even when I felt the blahs try to take over, I pulled out yet another sketch pad and all of the tools and started right back again.

well .. if it's a ritual.. you can simply stop doing it.. and one day , trust me.. you'll go back to it because you miss it. If it's a job.. you try to focus on what drawned you to it in the first place.. take another perspective on it. Well.. taking the risk of being too inspired by "the dead poets' society"... get up on that table.. and look at it a different way!
You may lost your passion because you lost yourself--your dream, your purpose etc. Check yourself for fatigue, exertion, depression etc. Rebuild your energy and start over.
Thanks. Some really good advice. I'll try them and see what happens. Thanks

Do you remember a time in your life when you had Super Strength? At certain times in life we find super, physical/inner strength to deal with situations. Example, a woman once lifted a car by herself, to free a child trapped underneath it. She didn't even know she did it or could ever do it.
