I'm not convinced there is a right way for any one person, but I will say that there is a common element in every technique...and that is the desire to quit. The lowest cost way of course, is to simply lay them down and never pick them up again. That may not be without it's horrors, but is is the lowest cost way.
I can tell you from personal experience that I tried virtually every way known to man to quit the cigarette habit. I started smoking when I was 8 years old. I smoked for 34 years, most of which was 1.5 - 2 packs a day. I am now 59 and have been smoke free for 17 years and the only way it became permanent was...cold turkey!
Oddly, I could smoke again today. I enjoyed it! But I never want to have to quit again. So, I choose, each and every day, not to have to quit again. Good luck if you attempt it. Know that you can do it, because it has been done before and no one is any better than you!!!
