I guess for most people it starts out as less or less of a habit and then it becomes routine. I am sure that it must be a strain on the body in many ways: something that might help would be to abstain and then recognise that you have no hangover?
I agree that drinking alcohol becuase you appreciate the taste it a better reason to drink than any other, how could you help someone to begin to notice the taste again - do you think that would help?
It's a difficult question. Usually a good taste is an outcome of virtues. Thus, in cases of addiction, abstention is required. How long? In my humble opinion, as long as one is accustomed to repetitive drinking.
It is so personal and only one way in which we take risks or put pressure on our bodies. Glad that you have made a choice to take care of yourself in this way, thank you for sharing.
