I start making a list of the things I need to do, from simple things like getting up and taking a shower to complicated tasks like finding a job.
The key to overcoming depression is to look at the smallest necessity and to achieve it, then go from there slowly. Depression is difficult, I know, but emotions are meant to move us. From what I've experienced, the ones who feel depressions are the ones who have also truly felt happiness.
