Have you ever been on the receiving end of a random act of kindness by a stranger?
Yes I have! Plenty of times! This is the main why I'm so generous with people I meet. First, I never know when/if I will see/need this person again in the future. Second, what goes around comes around, and I'd love to have a flood of good luck wash over me more often than not
By a stranger...not that I'm aware of.....but I've certainly received numerous acts of kindness by people I know. The name of one of my Businesses is "Pay It Forward."...because I believe in the concept wholeheartedly.
Yes and I have always been slightly surprised with the act. Just when you think people are too busy to reach out to others, someone extends a blessing to you. This in turn makes you want to give or help someone else. Random kindness is what happens at our church cafe each Sunday. Someone always pays an extra $10 so that ten people will get a free cup of coffee. It is nice to see the smiles on people's face when they hear their cup is free. It spreads the goodness beyond what you would think.
Yes I have, a few times. Once I was late for a doctor's appt and needed a few more coins for the parking meter so I asked a stranger passing by if he had change for a $5 note. He asked how much I needed, gave me the coins and said "have a nice day". Not only did I make the appointment but the stranger saved me from getting a parking ticket. I really believe in random acts of kindness, good karma will always reward you.
yes, and it's always so nice! I am kind by nature and am always reaching out to help, but when someone does it for me it's just so cool. During the holidays I was traveling through the tolls and decided to pay for the car behind me. When I told the toll taker she laughed and said "that's great because the car in front of you just paid for you!!" I thought that was so cool
Yes. I usually walk to the store. I live in a small town. One night it rained very hard, so I had to stay outside the store waiting for the rain to stop . One woman offered to give me a lift. It turned out she lives out of town and was just visiting her father a few houses away from mine. That was awesome.
I'm a believer in the concept of, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. I'm glad to say that, i have received kindness from strangers more than once.
What goes around, comes around. Is an excellent way of remembering to do the same.
Yes several times & the most memorable is, when my late husband was on alilment in AIIMS New Delhi, his condition was very critical for the chronic Renal failure..He was on Dialysis..twice, some times thrice in a week and everytime blood transfusion was done on him,..this is when all the units of blood donated by our relatives including me was already consumed during his previous dialysis & no more units of blood neither any doner was available for his next dialysis.. since i was new for the place i got so worried that my eyes filled with tears..i cud not think anything but weeping...then some relative of a patient in the same ward my husband was admitted came & advised me to ask for some help from the Blood bank incharge.. a 45 yrs.old ..as i know from others was very short tempered ,strict lady... but, with all my courage gathered I hasitantly went to her as I started speaking no words but tears started rolling down my eyes...she took my hands in her hands, consolled me and after listening my story she not only arranged blood for the next dialysis of my husband but promised to help me whenever I was in need...and here with all respect & love from the deep of my heart I want to thank Dr. Nanu Mukherjee who fulfilled her promises so well...So, we must never see, 'how big our problems are but we must see HOW BIG GOD IS" and he sends us help through the gud peoples like Dr. Nanu!
Yes. The most recent situation was a day when I said, "Can anything go right today?"
I stopped at an Aldi's grocery store and didn't have a quarter to get a cart. I was having a difficult time walking and the idea of taking my 25 cents in change inside to get a quarter seemed more than I could handle. Just as I was nearing a decision to forego the store altogether, a man walked by my car and said, "Do you need a quarter?"
There was no way he knew what I needed, but the timeliness of his kind act was far more important than he could ever know. I traded him 2 dimes and a nickel and thanked him.
Sometimes you just don't know what tiny thing can make all the difference in a person's life.
Yes! I wrote about it in a hub titled Everday Hero...I can never repay him for what he did for my son and my family!

What is the last random act of kindness you engaged in?Do you partake in random acts of kindness? What is the last one you remember? I think it's nice this time of year to focus on the goodness in others. For me, I donated anonymously to help cover someone's medical expenses. Can't say more...

Have you noticed any random acts of kindness lately?I saw some coupons on a grocery store shelf and I thought, Wow, how nice is that?" Someone left them there and now I can use them. Have you done something like this or seen something like this?
