Yes, unfortunately I've seen so many dead people over the years. As a nurse it's just part of the job. Things have changed a bit now in nursing I think, but one of our main jobs, in addition to caring for patients who were dying, when death had ocurred you had to perform what was called 'Last Offices'. This was basically washing the body - at one time some body orifices were also packed - and putting a temporary mortuary shroud on the patient. You made them as presentable as you could for the family members who wanted to see their loved one. I must have been just over 16 years old the first dead person I saw, but as I said, I have seen so many over the years.
