The International Agency for Research on Cancer, part of the World Health Organization, recently moved tanning beds up to a Group 1 cancer risk category--its highest category. Their report stated that the risk of skin melanoma goes up by 75% when you start tanning before the age of 30.
I think it was once believed that UVB was the dangerous component of the sun. This new information has concluded that all UV radiation is dangerous and have classified them all as Group 1 carcinogens. The American Cancer Society seems to concur.
Tanning is essentially cooking your skin so their assessment makes sense to me. As far as I am concerned we can eliminate that and all of the other body destroying beauty regimes people subject themselves to. You are beautiful as you are.
