Well unfortunately I can be your test subject since I have high blood pressure, and I am taking meds for it! Stress can cause a huge jump in high blood pressure. Not eating right, and watching your diet will cause that level to rise. You have to have a balance in your life, and once of those is food, working out, and job, and family life. You can get a headache from high blood pressure, or a stroke. You can get a mild stroke where it affects parts of your body. I have a friend who had his left arm go number after a mild stroke because of his hypertension, which was the result of high blood pressure. Excercise and eating right are the best things you can do for high blood pressure. You can take medicine, but all the meds in the world won't matter if you are eating unhealthy.
