Honestly, the only cure I know for shin splints is to change the way you run.
How do you do this? Throw out your ideas about the right shoes and proper alignment and research barefoot running.
I never kept up with a running plan in the past because my shin splints would flare up so badly that I would have to take days and days off at a time. Naturally, I never got back into the habit.
I purchased barefoot running shoes from Merrell, read the guides, watched the videos, and changed my running style. If I run the wrong way, I can tell immediately and make adjustments.
